So, we have a high rate of cancer in my family on my Dad's side, four of the five children have had cancer. My father not surviving. Anyways, I have a lot of phobias... And strangers touching my privates is one. Basically I have a large squishy lump in my scrotum on the left side, but not a lump on the actual testicle. Anyways, sometimes my I'm in a lot of pain because my testicles and lower stomach feel like they're on like a tight cord and when I stand up it's gonna snap. So I have to stay sitted, and I usually just wait til it does away. I've also gained some weight, however my chest has become very tender and manboob like. I don't know what to do, as I don't think I can face going to the doctors unless I'm like, in immense pain pretty much. I don't know what to do... I'm really scared :

I can totally relate to your fear. I need to have a colonoscopy done but I can't get up the nerve to go because I'm terrified of anesthesia.

I guess I'm an odd person to be giving advice about this, but they say you teach best what you need to learn the most....

I would tell a close friend about your situation AND your fears. Make sure it's someone you can trust and will support you. Ask them if they would go with you. Also, if you happen to have a prescription for Xanax or some type of anti-anxiety medicine, pop one before you go so you won't be as upset. I don't recommend this as a way of dealing with your problems by the way, but if it gets you to the doctor I'd do it just this one time.

By the way...prostrate cancer is highly unlikely at your age. But even if you do have it, it's very treatable if caught early. So you must go get checked out and rule that out. It will give you a lot of peace of mind.

You are your own worst enemy. If I were your bf I'd kick you all the way to the doctor's office myself.

About that lump in your scrotum: does it feel like a ball of worms? If so then it is most likely a varicose vein, and not cancer. Testicular cancer would be more likely to be on one of your balls, so if one ball were to be bigger than the other, I'd hightail to your doc.

I have a varicose vein and it is not painful at all, so you might want to get checked out by a doc anyway, because what you have is so painful.

Kristoff and Scruffy, an ounce of prevention is a pound of cure, and sometimes without that ounce of prevention what eventually sometimes isn't curable.

Kristoff, it sounds like a hydroseal. You're not about to die. So go.

Scruffy, I've had a colonoscopy, and so has Bill. No sweat.

Now if the two milque-toast, gutless, gum flapping, insipid blah blah blah meninlove can do it, so can the feisty intrepid take no shit guys.

    Right? icon_wink.gif

where the hell is your boyfriend?
    Have you told him?
    They're his balls too.
If your to scared for yourself, think how selfish you're being and go for him.
the person that will be checking your sac out has played with more scrotum than you can imagine and has seen them all and everything; get over it.
Now if you don't have insurance, I can be more understanding, but seriously man, there are free clinics.
Un-man-up, and make an appointment now.

I had my lower back killing me and then one of my balls swell up huge and finally went to the doctor and it turned out to be lack of sperm release.

He told me to make better friends with the palm of my hand.

My point is.. sometimes it's not what you think.

Please get your ass to the doctor. You are very young and this may be a complete non issue, but you don't want to kick yourself if it was something serious that was completely treatable.

I recently had horrifying pain in my right testicle and where the testicles meet join the body. The pain shot up to my groin area. Turned out I had Prostatitis and am now on Antibiotics for 2 weeks.

Catching anything early is the key, so don't wait.

It is scary to go to a doctor but it will also help find the cause early enough and get rid of it. Best of luck man.

Its scary going to the doctor, but you need to and here is why:
If they catch it early you have a higher survival rate and an easier rate of getting it rid of and never coming back. I know its scary trust me, I had to get tested for colon cancer and I am only 23 but it turned out to be nothing, but its good to get a check up! Screenings can aid you in the long run.

It is your right to wait as long as you like...and then the pain gets unbearable and you finally go and the Doctor tells you it's terminal....why didn't you come in sooner?
