    Brother

A brother can come in all walks of life.
He can be your biological brother or
a friend as close as a brother.
But this is what a brother is:

A Bond that will last for a lifetime.

    Respect that he gives you.

Openness he will give you when you need him to listen to you.

Time that his bond to you that will last forever.

The place he has for you in his Heart.

Emptiness he feels when you are not around.

Remembrance of the time he spends with you.

Friends come and go but a brother will be with you forever.
When you walk down the shadow of death
your brother will be at your side.
And don't forget that a brother will love you unconditionally.

I have brothers and I agree with your sentiments in your poem here. Excellent!

From the same womb we both came,
My brother, unlike all others, truly carries my last name.

At times we fought and made war within our home cave,
But in the end, for some reason, we remembered that we had the same last name.

Mother seperated us sometimes in the heat of our blood "wars,"
Somehow she reminded us that we shared a genetic love within society's great void.

And when both mom and dad are eventually gone,
Both my brother and I understand that we will be the only true proof left from the union of their loins.

So, regardless of what may happen in this short span of life,
My brother and I know that we really have only superficial strife.

Because when all else fails in this painful world and there is no other,
Wise men understand that there is no love unfailing like that of a true brother.

(I just made up that poem actually, lol).
