This wouldn't be the first time they've tried this kind of garbage.
I'm not especially worried, though. Are African Americans really going to vote for Mr. 1% Romney over the first African American president in history?
    I doubt it.

I thought Obama was mixed race, and America was still awaiting it's first African American President; after all wasn't one of his parents white.

Having a black president is too much fun for this to ever work. Black people will be trying to vote for the guy in 2016

    1. Totally not shocked by this. It's pretty despicable.

    2. This is kind of what I was talking about when I said emotionally charged activism is not always the best method for fighting ignorance. The opposition is banking off of us attacking the African American community in hopes of scoring political votes and dividing two key groups in the liberal base. The reason? They've done it before, and it seems to work pretty well. Plus, it rallies the Christian base. It's a win-win for them.

Activism needs to be part of our strategy, but it needs to be more of a grass roots effort. In instances like this, we need gay organizations to take on more rational takes in fighting these attacks.

NOM and orgs like them aren't hoping African Americans will vote for Romney. They're just trying to get them to abstain from voting for Obama. In a way, they're trying to disenfranchise them by getting them to withhold their vote entirely.

This kind of hatemongering is nothing new for NOM, the group for which Romney signed a pledge and to which he made a $10,000 donation.

Earlier last month, NOM Religious Liaison Rev. Bill Owens compared homosexuality to bestiality. Now, Owens is arguing that by supporting same-sex marriage, the President is, in effect, condoning child molestation. Owens believes that allowing every American to enter into a committed lifelong partnership with the person he or she loves will doom society into a cataclysmic slippery slope where gay child molesters molest children thereby making them grow up to be gay child molesters.

Gay republicans: these are the sort of people your Party is supporting.

Exactly. It's kind of ironic because voting is a right just like marriage should be. Seems kinda counterproductive to deny yourself your own rights in opposition to someone else's. Yep, bet NOM is somewhere in the mix here. Also bet Rev. Williams is getting some serious bank for all his help. Diabolical but still genius.

Most Americans aren't racist. They own color TVs.
