Two new polls find only about 38-39% of Americans rate Paul Ryan as a good pick for VP.

That's the lowest rating of any Repub nominee for VP since Dan Quayle in 1988.

How much do you want to bet that after about a month, during which a possible spike may appear for Ryan, that his favorability will take a dive, just as their conservative spokesman Michael Savage predicted. RYAN IS ANOTHER SON OF PRIVILEGE JUST LIKE ROMNEY AND JUST AS "OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY" as Savage said.

I think starting in September Republicans are going to get a rather rude awakening to reality. The US middle class and Elderly will not buy into RYAN AND ROMNEY'S attempt to return to the failures of Bush economics. They have no new jobs plans and they have no new ideas, they have joined their peers in blocking any and all Obama new Ideas for jobs and are now trying to blame him for it. THEIR SCHEMES WILL FLOP !!!

Well, he is the probably most well-known (to the public) Veep nominee since LBJ. Voters already know that Paul Ryan wants to cut Medicare, cut Social Security, cut student loans, cut pre-school programs, get rid of birth control, end the minimum raise, and cut taxes on the rich to raise taxes on the middle class.

Voters know that Paul Ryan and flip-flopping, gay-bashing, tax cheat Mitt Romney would wage war on women, the poor, the middle class, gays, students, and the elderly. Of course he's lowly rated: he's a terrible choice for a terrible nominee.

realifedad saidRYAN IS ANOTHER SON OF PRIVILEGE !

It was interesting to see some media outlets play up the whole narrative about his dad dying when he was 16 and that somehow created enormous financial struggle and strife he had to overcome, and made him the fiscal conservative he is today, which if you read into his back-story was far from the case. prominent roman catholic family, his father was a lawyer, his great grandfather built the town he grew up in etc.

the bad news: his father grandfather, and great grandfather all died in their 50s from heart disease.

The worse news is that Ryan paid for his college tuition using a Social Security survivor benefits payment he recieved when his father died.

The grossly hypocritical Ryan (who comes from a wealthy family) - paid for his college tuition with a "government handout" from Social Security.
The same Social Security program that Ryan wants to eliminate.

Paul Ryan is big fat hypocritical rich boy - just like Mitt Romney

For such a horrible choice as you seem to think Ryan is, the left wing nut bags sure are filling the forums with the lies and propaganda about him and his views on the future of our country. North carolina...huge crowds, Wisconsin....huge crowds, Iowa....huge crowds. Yes, please keep dismissing him as a bad pick because all he is showing the rest of the country what a great leader he will be for years and years and years.

And Krystol was also that same damn NeoCon that pushed for war with Iraq and is even now pushing for war with Iran, Krystol sees in Romney and Ryan another lap dog for right wing lobbies and Adelson money for his schemes just like he had with Bush when Krystal was the head of the PNAC and got him to dive right into two unecessary wars. Krystol picks only the lap dogs that will follow his Ideology rather than think for themselves. Krystol and his ilk are buying the people they need to promote their policies.

Yes - and Ryan is the darling of the Koch brothers.

By picking Ryan - Romney has guaranteed that the dirty Koch dollars will flow heavily into the Romney campaign.

that's because all the GOP closet cases (desperately searching for hetero street cred), eagerly declared how boned they were over her.

conversely, they have to subdue their lust for Ryan (so as not to appear too homo).

    might skew the poll results.

GOP concerned Ryan could cost party House and Senate seats

Republicans strategists are worried that Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) addition to the presidential ticket will cost their party House and Senate seats this fall.

Their concern: Democrats will successfully demonize Ryan’s budget plan, which contains controversial spending cuts and changes to Medicare.

    Romney just framed the election

The entire election is not going to be a referendum on Obama's Presidency
    which is what he wanted

Oh It's still going to be questions on his taxes and what he did at Bain

But the entire election is now gonna be on the Ryan Budget plan and what He ... meaning Romney will do about it

Will he Refudiate it.... Palin you owe me a dollar
or is he going to embrace it
and if he embraces it what is it going to do to Medicare as we know it and Social Security in years to come

................................................ and Just How many MILLIONS of dollars is the Mittster family gonna save under the Ryan Plan?

    Bad Move Mitt ....

I'd hate to be Ryan or Romney defending their stand on doing away with the 70+ year old very successfull and dependable SS and Medicare programs as our elderly have known them.

    WHY YOU ASK ??

Because the fixes to the problems the Baby Boomer generation have presented, are so easy and painless as pointed out several times by the Congressional Budget Office. All it takes is raising the current cut off for taking SS/Medicare deductions from $110,000 up to apporximately $180,000 to $210,000. Anyone afraid that this income group will not be able to afford their medications or food with such an increase ? Anyone afraid they won't be able to drive their cadilacs, SUV's or Beemers ? Shall we weep for the pain they will suffer for paying a bit more in SS taxes ? But Ryan would have people living on $15,000 to $20,000 a year retirement, paying out $4,000 to $6,000 thousand more for health care and meds. But Ryan say's "LET THE LITTLE PEOPLE LIVE ON $10,000 to $15,000". AND YET SOME REPUBS THINK THE AMERICAN MIDDLE CLASS ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR THIS BULLSHIT ?

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ALL THE HYPE AND FEARMONGERING FROM THE FAR RIGHT RYAN TO MAKE SUCH DRASTIC CHANGES. What truthful excuse will he use to back the need for such changes when the fix is so easy ?

Think about all of the above, then let it soak in that with Ryan's gift of money to the rich and more money going to the military all at the expense of the poor, elderly and the Middle Class, and then face it that very little overall movement toward ending the deficits or the debts will result.

TELL US WHY WE WANT THIS RYAN BUDGET IDEA TO PASS ??

NO WONDER THE REPUBS DON'T WANT TO TALKE ABOUT THIS ?

The Washington Repub elite are shaking in their boots now that Ryan is on the ticket.

Almost every single Repub in Congress has voted for the Ryan budget - and now every voter going to the polls this November is going to know exactly what's really in the Ryan budget.

Not necessarily. Sometimes people may vote for a particular Congressman/woman or Senator despite a major blemish in his/her voting record and concurrently vote for an executive running for the other party's ticket.

Another benefit of running Ryan for VP is that not only will he pull down the Repugnant ticket, but won't he have to vacate his seat in the House in order to be the VP candidate, since all House members must stand for reelection in 2012 if they wish to sit in Congress again? That would be a bonus right there.
