    Hello All!

Am heading to Los Angeles for the first time coming up in a few months. Will be there for Tues-Friday. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do/where to go/where to stay? Any advice would be awesome!

    Cheers

Do touristy stuff like visit Hollywood, venice beach, santa monica, griffin observatory, and downtown LA where chinatown, koreatown are located at (k town is pretty boring unless your eating food so is china town). If you just want to chill like at the beach then go to Manhattan beach since its pretty peaceful there or go to Redondo Beach. Compton is pretty cool too if you want to see the ghetto so is the long beach projects. Ummm LA is pretty much boring I guess if you dont really do out doorsy stuff unless you go to an amusement park like knotts. If your looking for anything gay in LA, then I'm pretty much clueless and have no idea what to tell you.

Halloween in West Hollwood...normally a huge party...they close off the streets...dress up and get there early or else you will be stuck in traffic for many hours. They normally have live bands playing in the streets.

Private parties can be fun as well.

Hike behind the HOLLYWOOD sign..its a very ONLY in LA thing...and a great 1/2 day hike.

Go to Venice Beach...the pics in my profile with the rings are there. I love that place.

Visit the Getty Center---nice view of LA from there.

Do you like design/ architecture? If yes, LA has some cool mid century modern homes that are open to the public.

I love case study house #22 (40$ entry fee)....its ICONIC...you should totally go there.

Do you have a car? Or better...do you have friends that have a car?

    stah%2B22.jpg

Nightlife...the bars in WEHO are good to visit, as are a few in SILVERLAKE..but for a tues-friday stretch, maybe not very busy.

Work out at GOLDS hollwyood....so MANY sexy men.

Have fun. I love visiting LA.

Normally I would tell you to stay away from West Hollywood unless you needed a lesson in the kind of person not to be, but Halloween is the only exception. Some people really go all out and the costumes are awesome. Just stay out of the bars.

LOL. Literally the WORST list of "attractions" you can muster. The Simpson is so funny.

I dont get why some people hate on west hollywood.

It's a fun place to be, and if you want to meet hot men, drink and dance.. it's the place to go in LA.

Hermosa beach for fun beach/day drinking.. Manhattan beach for more chill beach day.

Hike Runyon canyon/Hollywood sign if you wanna get outdoors. Hollywood sign is more recreational, but Runyon has is more social and a lot of half naked men/women.

Gym advice... Equinox weho has the hottest men. nice clean, professional, but expensive day pass. totally worth it.

museums: MOCA, LACMA, and the Getty

bike up samo/venice on the bike paths along the beach

I'm thinking about going to LA for the first time sometime soon. It seems like there is a lot to do, but also nothing to do at the same time.

I hear Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles are a must though.

if you like greasy food. There are a ton of good restaurants to go to. I would not put that one on the list. Pick a cuisine and you can find good restaurants within that. For example, lets say you are looking for Ethiopian food, go to Fairfax:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=ethiopian+restaurant+los+angeles&rlz=1C1AFAB_enUS451US451&aq=0&oq=etheopian+restau&sugexp=chrome,mod=13&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

It is always fun to eat at a restaurant on the beach.

Venice beach is always fun but my favorite is still Laguna Beach

gesh...some tv show has taken over the photos

That doesn't make sense.. "seems like there is a lot to do, but also nothing to do at the same time"

LA is the 2nd biggest city in the US.. you have your choice or what part of LA you want to visit, if you want the busy/up-n-go, you go to the west side. If you want a suburban feel, you head out to the valley or east towards Pasadena.

People who can't find anything to do in LA, need to change things up. There's always something to do in LA, you're probably just stuck in the same routine

    Catalina Island

    Balboa Island

Some of the more popular outdoor shopping places:
The Grove/LA Farmer's Market (Los Angeles)
3rd Street Promenade (Santa Monica) - close to ocean
Fashion Island (Newport Beach) - close to ocean

    Indoor Mall:
    South Coast Plaza (Costa Mesa)

If the weather is cold and you are looking for warmth...head to Palm Springs

Maybe it seems like there is a lot to do , but nothing that lights my socks on fire personally.

Marix Tex Mex -- best Margaritas and Fajitas in L.A. and right in the middle of WeHo -- Sunday nights are the best, but every night is packed.

Because West Hollywood is an entire community of low class, gay ghetto trash that has no respect for relationships, themselves or each other. They have weak sexual morals, are emotionally and socially immature and have low standards in life overall. They are the embodiment of what is wrong with the gay community as a whole and why we cannot get respect from the heterosexual community.

I don't get why people think WeHo is the gay mecca of LA and feel compelled to spend their entire vacation there. Just go to the Abbey for a few hours, have some drinks, and then go enjoy many of the other wonderful things that LA has to offer. So much to do here in terms of culture, night life, outdoorsy, and touristy stuff.

I know someone mentioned that they feel like there's nothing to do here. Well, that's because everything so spread out. I will say that there's something for everyone. It's just a matter of driving there. icon_wink.gif

Also, skip on Roscoe's. It's not all that great. Seriously. Check out Pann's Restaurant instead. That's the same place where they shot Pulp Fiction. So you get some Hollywood sight seeing at the same time. icon_biggrin.gif
