"I don't know exactly when it balances, but—I don't want to get wonky on you, but we haven't run the numbers on that specific plan."

In other words...just trust us, dont ask questions.
Kind of like Willard's tax returns, "you people" dont need to
see them, just take our word for it.

Yes, kind of like when Nancy Pelosi said about the Obamacare plan. "we have to pass the bill before we know whats in it."

At least Romney/Ryan have plans....Obama/less Biden = no plan Oh and under Obamacare medicare will go bankrupt between 2017 and 2020. An unfunded entitlement of 45-70 trillion dollars for the retiring baby boomers. Yes Obama, lets do nothing about it and kick the can down the road instead of face the problem. Our interest alone on the debt is 230 billion dollars a year. If thats not enough to scare even the lunatic left liberals then our country is truely lost.

I sure hope we find out. Assuming a Romney/Ryan victory already i see.

How many years untill Obama's plan balances the budget? Oh, thats right, he doesnt have a plan. Yet when he first became leader he promised he would reduce the deficit by half....Nice try! Hope and Change = Faliure and Fear

I'm not one to accept mediocrity, sorry.

There are some aspects of the Ryan Plan that I do like, but it's an abject failure in others. For one, it doesn't balance the budget until 2040, as I said. Also, it doesn't cut defense spending, an area which needs MAJOR trimming.

HMMMMM !!! How good you are at forgetting or ignoring the facts. THE REPBLICANS HAVE PUT A STOP TO EVERY EFFORT TO COME UP WITH A PLAN.

REPUBLICANS DON'T WANT THE FACT THAT THE CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE HAS REPEATEDLY SHOWN THERE IS A SIMPLE FIX FOR OUR SS AND MEDICARE SHORTAGES?

What are they ? do the google, myself and several others have exposed this many a time but you don't seem to have read even once, WHY DON'T YOU LOOK IT UP instead of just fearmongering ?

Empty talking points there Jock_1 Are you denying that the republicans stated right from the start that their most important job is to make Obama a one term president ? that from then on they blocked nearly every effort of the Dems and Obama to fix the budget ? Do you deny the effects of the party of No ?

Ryan knows exactly how long -- he just doesn't want to say it, because it's either "never" or in many, many decades.
I'm guessing he's also been instructed by Romney's people to say as little as possible about this budget that shreds social programs and education to pay for massive tax cuts for millionaires. This budget is politically toxic, and Romney's running away from it as fast as he can.

The only pain will be for Romney and Ryan, blubbering through their concession speeches.

    You're wrong - as usual.
We know that Ryan plan doesn't balance the budget until 2040.

    http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/08/11/us/politics/0812-ryan.html

And it balances the budget entirely on the backs of middle and lower income Americans - sparing the rich from any pain at all.

In fact the Ryan budget plan gives the rich even more tax cuts -while inflicting pain on everyone else.

    Immoral

    Haha

    You're right.
The Repubs used to keep their lust to destroy Medicare and Social Security under wraps.
But now they've come out and admitted it.

The Repubs may think they can get away with it by using the excuse that it's necessary to eliminate Medicare and Social Security in order to pay off the National Debt - but when they're adamant about protecting the ultra rich from making ANY sacrifices - and are intent on giving the rich even more tax cuts - their dishonesty greed and self interest become obvious,

Screwing the middle class by eliminating Medicare and Social Security and raising middle class taxes - while CUTTING taxes on the rich - is unfair immoral and evil.

Republican politics (post Bush 41) has been all about testing the limits of the electorate to stomach the bold faced greed of their policies. and they've encountered very little blowback from their base.

In fact, they're able to win votes from independents, convincing them that the trickle down economics tide will surely lift their tiny dingy just as well as it lifts Romney's yacht. Some are smart enough to realize that it doesn't but hey if you're anti-abortion or pro-gun, the GOP is the only game in town, and, like they say, you can't rape the willing.

the 1% er's don't want anyting to do with that rabble, but they're more than happy to exploit them to secure power.

They'll probably "run the numbers" about the same time Willard gets back to us on his tax rate. Back in July he was "happy to go back and look."

The painful fix for the deficit and debt crisis needs to be placed on the aspects of governement most responsible for the original problem.

    1. Drastic cuts need to be made at the pentagon, which would cut way back on NEO CON interventionism in the Middle East and other countries that have cost us trillions in wars and billions in thwarting blowback from our own actions.

    2. Those very rich who benefited by their gambling failures at the banks and wallstreet need to pay by our going back to Glass/Steigal regulations to keep the boom and bust cycle from coming around again to the scale of 07'/ 08'

    3. The so called pain needs to come from the top from those who've benefited and gained wealth from ohers demise, Government should end all subsidies and tax breaks for Companies taking their jobs overseas. Penalties rather than rewards for taking jobs overseas would bring about more jobs here at home and revitalize our stalled economy.

    4. Ryans Idea of making those who can least afford loss of income would only cause our economy to further stall with less money circulating in the economy. His Ideas are completely backwards !! We've had ten drastic years of his type top down economics which is exactly why we're in recession. Doubling down on it under Ryans and Reagans Ideas would only make things worse.
WHERE ARE THE JOBS FROM THEIR TOP DOWN ECONOMIC SCHEMES?
