Talking about ill advised behavior in the men's bathroom at work.....

This was like (but wasn't) a total joke from a friend of mine who works for a law firm in Wichita. We've been friends since law school and he called me on my cell phone.. his normally confident voice a little shaken. He wanted to know what he should do.

He explained what he did and I couldn't help but laugh. I told him he was a dumbhead.

Apparently he didn't lock the door and its a unisex bathroom. The place
hadn't been cleaned (according to him it was pretty bad off) and he chose to use the sink as a urinal.

His boss.. one of the partners, who is woman, came in as he was in the midst of .....

Now he's worried about his job. icon_eek.gif

I laughed, but I knew he was serious. Apparently nothing was said and he had hurridly left the bathroom. My recommendation: Be prepared to discuss the slovenly nature of the bathroom and why he was doing what he was... and ask his boss for a lock for the bathroom door!
    haha.

(This is the second thread I've read by you that really seems to be by someone else.)

Did he at least wash his hands (which would also rinse out the sink superficially) before leaving? The boss seeing that he neglected that too would have compounded his predicament doubly.

I don't see how a man won't use a toilet but will use a sink for a urinal.
Logically your friend would probably be better off just admitting temporary lapse of crudeness, instead of blaming it on a dirty bathroom.

If only he had locked the door.

Or maybe he would have gotten a raise. It could have gone either way.

If this is an associate who showed this lapse of critical thinking and judgment in front of a partner, at the very minimum he can kiss any hope of making partner at that firm goodbye.

I'd fire his ass for pissing in a public sink. And I believe his firing would be justified; how could he have any legal recourse for putting others' health at risk?

Think about it. It seems your friend doesn't give a shit about anyone else but himself. Given his profession, I'm not surprised. Lawyers, bankers, real estate brokers and politicians all seem to share the same sociopathic gene.

So I think we've now established that you should tell you're friend he's a fucking idiot and that he deserves to get fired.

This was my question: if you're just urinating, you don't even need to touch the commode.

Sounds like the awesome John Grisham novel I just read. The Litigators. Read it! There's only one room with toilets for everyone?

Haha, I'm weird like that too. If I go to pee and there is a brownie in the bowl, I don't add lemon extract. I find a clean bowl....

Urine is completely sterile, unless the guy has a urinary tract infection or has hep B, though some sources say that though urine can contain the hep B virus, urine hasn't been proven as a means for hep B transmission. For all intents and purposes, it's salty water that's 98.6 degrees.

These comments about "unclean commodes" has me in stitches, though, since anyone who has travelled to Asia can attest, even the dirtiest toilets in North America and Europe seem like laboratories compared to the washrooms in Asia. The guy obviously could have used the toilet, flushed it, and washed his hands thoroughly afterward.

I understand that, and I also realize that there was a time when urine was used as a cleanser. I won't get into the Hep B and UTI concerns, but that's something to consider as well. Regardless, you'd have one hell of a time winning this debate in a court of law.

Sounds like a REALLY prestigious Law Firm.

The kind with one (1) filthy bathroom.

His boss must be really proud to be a Partner in such an establishment.

Yer friend pees in sinks. Because he finds toilets too dirty. But will remove all of his clothes and bring another Dude into the same bathroom and swallow his semen.

You may wanna up-grade Yer social circle a bit....

Awkward moments in a unisex bathroom at a law firm? You sure this isn't an episode of Ally McBeal? icon_lol.gif
