    Hey guys,

I was one of the best swimmers in my state a few years ago ( 4th IMer woo!) and I was wondering where I could find some workouts for an IMer or for stroke isloation. ALl the workuts I can find are for people training for triathalons and not swimming.

    Thanks

Here's the site I use for workouts: Southern CA Acquatics

And another - you can customize the workout's duration, intervals, stokes and equipment: SwimPlan.com

    Lots of variety... jt

Nice I was looking for the same thing except I reached my prime in swimming at age 9 or 10.
This is from the first site you gave jt...

    "-200 swim/100 k x3

    -3x300 4:40
    50 back/100 fr build/50 back/100 fr w/dolphin dives in
    shallows"

Could someone translate that for me?

    icon_smile.gif The first one: 200 swim/100 k x3
do a 200 yard swim followed by a 100 yard kick - three times.

    The second:
    3x300 4:40
    (50 back/100 fr build/50 back/100 fr w/dolphin dives in shallows)
    -

You're going to do 3 300 yard swims and you have 4 minutes and 40 seconds to do each 300 (seems like that time interval is way to fast to me - it includes your rest time too) .

Each 300 yard swim will be broken down into:
    50 yards back stroke
100 yards free style - 'build' means starting slow and getting faster
    50 yards back stroke
100 yards free style and in the shallow end of the pool do dolphin dives.

PS. Most pools are 25 yards long - so 50 yards is down and back.
PSS. The swimplan.com site is more user friendly

Awesome thanks. I understand it now but I won't be able to do it. I'll look around for a bit to find something.

    Hi Jamesrific!

We both share a common interest which is swimming. I usually get a series of swimming workouts in the net for my everyday routine.

Wow... SwimPlan is pretty awesome. Just signed up. Hopefully that will give me some more variety while still having a bit of customization for days when I'm feeling more tired or like focusing on something specific.

Anyone have opinions on that site? I guess it can't hurt to use their workouts...
