good sir indeed I will! I played as much of beta and stress test as I could trying to get a new lappy before launch (not going so well....) but keeping fingers crossed and hopes alive because this is one game I definately want to play!

I thought about it but I'm afraid its trying to please everyone and will, in turn, please nobody. I hope I am wrong but I could use another mmo to waste time with.

the game sucks. I played the beta and was disappointed since its not as good as the first one. The gameplay is not on par in my opinion as the first one and feels a bit spamy with the skills. They should had just updated the original with better graphics, new maps, and new moves (jumping and etc), new skills and it would had been better than remaking a new game.

ick ick!!! dude gw1 is not even on the same playing field as modern day mmos. gw1 was good back in the day, but now the mmo genre is changing.

the beta was awesome when i played it. this is gw2 not an expansion. they have changed a lot of things that, in turn, make the game more for enjoyment and not about arduous tasks.

leveling up and running the first dungeon was enough to sell me on how awesome this game is. you really have to work together as a team or else you won't succeed.

lol dude I hate PVE. I only PVP, and from seeing how the pve works in GW 2 is alright. Better than gw 1 pve, but the pvp sucks ass. It really takes no skill to pvp in gw2 like wtf rangers and mesmers cant rupt skillz now??? Or it doesnt take warriors some adrenaline to build up to attack? That is stupid to me since that is what made each profession so unique besides the different attribute each one had. In my opinion, gw2 is over hyped and I dont think its going to be all that great, but I will wait an see... Hopefully when they make an expansion to the game they re-add the monk profession since it was one of the funnest proffesion.

I've played the beta weekends and stress tests, mostly pve but some pvp and I can't wait for the release date. The professions have been changed around a lot in comparison to GW1 to allow more versatility in soloing while still staying unique, i.e. Rangers have pets, Mesmers have illusions, Guardians have virtues, Elementalists have attunements, etc.

Nah. I only have time for one MMO. WoW has me by the balls. Maybe when Elder Scrolls Online comes out I'll be able to break free.

Yay Jboegz! You should get in Crystal Desert for launch. Invite any other friends you have, or I have a couple guilds if you want.

Most people know that I've waited for this game since announcement, and I've tested the game quite a bit, so I'm happy it's close to launch finally. Can't wait to see friends in-game.

I wrote a blog dealing with the five-year wait, being a gay gamer, losing a friend and some other things. It was published as a guest spot and also featured on a major GW news site. I can mail the link if anybody's interested, but I won't be posting it here.

This thread piqued my interest, so I checked out the website. It does look like a decent game. I have to ask though, how are they sold out of digital copies of the pre-order? They are digital... False scarcity so I buy the deluxe edition?

They ran out of codes to give to the players to register the game and they didn't bother to generate more.

We should definitely get an RJ teamup going one day, also since jerradwolf was kind enough to post a pic, here's one of my own, to be wiped post testing. 555744_4591114014773_1579117175_n.jpg

We all need to set up on a server, and start up a guild called Realjock. Just so we can be super bad ass and fabulous at the same time lol

Crystal Desert is the server to be. Great WvW players, LGBT guilds, and awesome community otherwise. There's a Facebook group if anybody is interested.

The sold out digital copies was purely due to the fact that ArenaNet didn't want to overload the servers during the Beta Weekend Events. They gave us warning that they would be using such a tactic when they first talked about the digital release. I know it looks weird from casual fans checking it out now though. The game is definitely available, no need to get the deluxe if you don't wish to.

Maybe I'll give it a shot if more digital copies become available. Have a month to kill between GW2 and MoP's release anyway.

It's as Stevendust said, they don't want too many pre-orders to prevent their servers from being over-stressed in case anything goes wrong at launch.

They announced way back when pre-purchasing started that there would be a finite number of keys for that reason.

I highly suggest it, even to WoW players as there is no subscription fee to worry about so nothing's keeping you from playing both games. GW2 will be there every Tuesday during downtime. ;)

Yep, different kind of game. It's why I like it.

You could be a guardian? Or an elementalist?

No need for healers, everyone's got a self heal when you're unlucky or bad enough not to dodge. The combat's way more involved and active. Much more fun than WoW for me. Don't get me wrong, I still wipe the floor in DS with a Ret Pally, but playing with a melee weapon in GW2 is much more satisfying.

Feels a lot more involved. More dynamic and adaptive.
