Do you find that you are more popular with European or American men? Many people I've asked have said that they find Europeans to be more open about who they want to date/hookup with. Americans seem to focus a lot on things like age and race, but Europeans seem to be more lax about these things.

What is different about European gays that they seem to be able to appreciate a broader spectrum of people? It seems a lot healthier in the long run to create a community where everyone can at least be appreciated. Why does Europe seem to struggle with this far less than America does?

Places like Australia and America were for outcasts, rebels, scoundrels, and political asylums. Europeans have long standing traditions of values and culture. History, art, music, anthropology, were all valued. People actually read there. In America what is valued? Being popular and high school and who can get laid the most.

I'm not defending the fact that there are ignorant, uncultured people here, but I figured you'd be sensible enough to not think that of every single person in the country.

Of course exceptions exist. I'm just saying the entire population as a whole, that's the trend. The fact that you think of this is the fact that you're one of those exceptions.

Generally, Europeans have a more open attitude about sexual topics because they have a very long history of a more liberal attitude towards sex. Here in Spain, it is a given that a man will have a mistress on the side from his wife or regularly have sex with a prostitute. Prostitution is legal here and state controlled.

America was settled by the Puritans. It is only recently in the history of America that it has matured in its attitudes about sex.

    So it goes with homosexuality.

False. British are just as likely to be mean to outsiders.

Of course the sampling is much too small to be significant, but this tends to be my feeling on the distinction too. Europeans seem to be more interested in finding someone that works for them rather than Americans who tend to be more into guys who are objectively prized by society.

Based on my (limited) observations at my college, I'd say that I get on better with European men. They seem to be more deep, mature and accepting of others whereas a lot of the American men at my school are more immature and materialistic. This is my general feeling when comparing the American guys with other non-European ones too (i.e. South American etc.).

hahahaha, who won the revolutionary war? Culture and values are nice and all but it is the guerilla tactic that sets one as unique and superior. Washington’s tactics in the war were guerilla in nature. When Obama took out Bin laden it was a guerilla tactic which won the day. Where culture during the Bush days meant working with the host nation Obama set that aside and went in without the consent of host nation. They were pissed plus they didn’t get the chance to tip off Bin Laden.

Have been around a lot of Europeans and Americans. It would be difficult to make the generalization you are making.

You might be making a generalization about the Europeans you have met, who are probably travellers and immigrants, or who enjoy meeting people from other cultures. Which is to say, you are meeting the best that Europe has to offer and not representative of the whole.
