His season was the last i watched. I found him extremely attractive but he had a spaark and intelligence and compassion about him.. he seemed troubled in a way most people could relate to... and it's no surprise he is now dead at 29. He was also on a season of "celebrity" rehab.. where half famous go to get clean publicly..which in my opinion is almost an oxymoron.

With the death of Young and attractive from drug abuse people i think a few things...

We associate drug abuse and unhappiness with people who are poor and "unattractive"... and the media will almost glamorize rehab and drug abuse for the rich and beautiful and fit while they are dying. Yet Drug abuse is only BAD when it's someone who is not rich and beautiful and is most likely poor.. or until that rich and beautiful person dies or does something terrible. It's so twisted. It's all bad stuff for everyone.

anyhow at the same token.. Am i the only one who remembers this guy?

I remember him and that season. He was spiraling out of control and left early, if I recall. He came back toward the end of the season, but something about him never seemed right. I'm actually not that surprised to hear this. Sad, but not surprising.

He knew he was "hot" and was a complete douche. I'm not sad, but it is sad to see how he portrayed living with an addiction.

MTV is SO not the MTV it was in the 90's. Where is the friggin music?!

And the Real World isn't what it use to be... now it's basically where they get 7 kids together and load them with booze and watch them fuck and fight. Skank city Television.

Yeah, they need to change the name of the station. I mean, they only show music videos at the end of a reality show (for like 10 seconds) or at 3-5AM then it's "Ridiculousness" whatever the hell that is or a "Teen Mom" marathon. There's not even good shows like Celebrity Death Match or Daria on.

I went to Coastal Carolina Univ with Dave from that season, so I watched every episode. I thought Joey was SO sexy but you could clearly see he had serious problems.....such a shame

I remember him and his Playgirl pics. If he didn't try to be so attractive, he would have been 100x's sexier.

but, it's sad that he passed in the manner he did. It at least appeared that he wanted to try and get over his addictions. Clearly, he never got over his personal demons first, which should be the first step.

At least now he's getting what he's always wanted: an extra 15 minutes of fame.

getting over yer personal demons is not the first step. thats not even a step. thats actually the point of the entire step program. and most people still never even come close.

Which is why most people fail the programs. You can't cure an addiction if you don't cure the root cause of it. Just because programs have "prescribed" steps does not mean they are right or effective. Then again, I'm not doctor. However, I know what works from personal experience.
