How many partners have u had?

  I've been curious as to what's the average amount of partners a sexually active gay man has during his lifetime. How many is too many? Is there a such thing as too many? Do u guys have a cap limit?
  
  
  I'm 22, I've had 7 sex partners and I don't want too many more. Just tryna see where I fit in the spectrum.

  This is a type of distorted thinking called Self-Comparison. Why compare apples to oranges if you view sex differently than other people do, have different morals at different times in your life, and grow and change as a person on a completely different trajectory than anyone else.
  
  There is nothing inherently wrong with having so many partners you have lost count and having only a few.
  
  The real question is, why do you care how many other people have had?
  
  Many of us don't even bother counting and never did count from the start. It is interesting that you feel the need to count and remember each one.

  The title at first made me think it meant husband partners. That would be 2, the first having died, and with my second partner now. And I'm the third of his partners, having split from his first, and losing his second to AIDS as I did mine, a grief we share in common.
  
  The BF total is 4, not counting that my 2 partners were also BFs before being "promoted" to partner.
  
  Other FBs, tricks and miscellaneous sexual encounters are around 100, when I've tried to add this up before. But I'm honestly not sure, never kept a running score, and some were on the group plan at bathhouses and gay resorts, not sure all those guys count, with them could be more than 100. But then I've only been out since 1995, a late starter.

  I was at 60 something by the time I was 20. I stopped counting because it was too depressing. Most of that happened in one summer. I'm easily in the triple digits, and I'm in my 30's now.

  Actually what I said wasn't "mind reading" it was an assessment based on your response to the originator's question. Which is all it was. If you didn't want or feel the need to answer his question, why bother answer at all. It's not that serious man, it really isn't. However, since you bothered bringing up distorted thinking, it seems you're bordering the lines of global labeling as well as filtering based upon both of your replies. Read what I actually wrote before saying I was reading your mind because I clearly said it "seems" like you were irritated.
