Becoming a "jock" at 29

In high school, I was never a jock. I was on the football team and track team and that was the extent of my extracurricular activities. My parents were not athletic and never pushed me to participate in sports as a child.
I never had an interest to play sports in college either.

However, now, at 29, I am totally into competitive sports. I have started swimming and treat it as a religion. I ride my bike 20 miles almost every day. It is my goal to be in my first triathlon next year. I also would like to be in swim meets. I have been doing kung fu for 2 years and I am one of their best students.

I feel like becoming a "jock" at this age is kind of like how people would feel when they make their first million, "New Money." But I'm loving it and it is something awesome to aspire to!

I'm not into any competitive sport, unless you count volleyball like once every two or three years.

Yet I still consider myself a jock cause at age 39, I got tired of being a fat lard ass and did something about it, so now I have a physical resemblance to a jock.

Congrats! That's super exciting! I can sort of understand where you're coming from. I was always overweight in high school, and it's just now that I've really tried to eat right and take care of my body.

Just keep doing what you're doing -- as long as you love it, that's all that matters. Plus, you look great!

I seem to defy gravity- the older I get the better shape I am in. This has been true since I was 18. icon_eek.gif
