What a weird dream I just woke up from! Check back later while I piece it all together. Edit: OK, here it is written in story form. When you reply don't quote the story so it won't be such a long scroll for people to read.

"Robin Williams and Robert Wagner in My Dreams"

    robinwilliams.jpgrobertwagner.jpg

My dream begins inside a nondescript building bustling with foot traffic. Standing in front of me is a man, a few inches shorter, wearing a tight-fitting, light gray T-shirt. He turns his head sideways for a moment, and I realize he's the actor, Robin Williams.

This is my moment, I think. To be in the presence of an actor I admire, and to tell him so. I got to do this right. I don't want to come off stupid. So I say as calmly as possible, "Oh my god, you're Robin Williams."

"Yes, indeed I am," he replies.

"I just want to tell you that I love your movies. You're such an amazing actor." I try not to sound too gloaty, but there really isn't any other way to say it without being gloaty. He begins to walk ahead of me but engages me in a conversation.

"So...tell me what movies you liked."

Panic sets in. I've often thought that when I meet someone famous my mind will go blank and I won't be able to come up with a single movie they did. Then it will look like I'm not really a fan, even though I truly am. Finally, one comes to mind.

"Awakenings. I loved the movie Awakenings."

"Oh yes, that was a good one," he says. At this point he is walking really fast. I have to pick up my pace to keep up.

"Yes, it was SO moving. You're an amazing actor. That movie was so beautiful. It made me cry. I want to cry just thinking about it. I could watch it again and again."

"Oh, thank you," he mutters, or so I think. I'm also thinking that it was the exchange between him and Robert De Niro that made it excellent. I try to figure out what to say next. Something that's always been on my mind when it comes to Robin Williams. I just hope it comes out right.

"I'm not a big fan of your road trip movies." Apparently I was referring to any movie where he plays comedy. "I like when you are dark and beautiful."

That's what came out of my mouth, in my dream, that is. "Dark" and "beautiful." What I really meant was Williams' dramatic roles where he shows off his sensitive side, like in Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, Patch Adams, and one of my all-time favorites, The Fisher King.

"Well," he responds. "I'll let you know when I make another dark and beautiful movie."

At that point we are in the building's stairwell. He quickly makes his way down the spiral maze below me. I realize that what I said didn't make any sense. It appears I may have offended him as he scurries away. I make one last attempt to salvage our encounter.

    "Yes, please let me know!"

Cut ahead a few dream minutes, and I'm in a large library. It is here that I hope to track down Mr. Williams and set the record straight. I move about the stacks frantically searching. Why Mr. Williams would be in this library I have no idea.

Finally I come upon an old children's section. A maze of short corridors and turns weave into rooms behind rooms, and rooms behind those rooms. And at the very end of the maze is a tiny room with tables and about fifteen chairs. I see what appears to be a man sitting in one of those chairs and reading.

"Robin?" I ask. "Is that you?"

The man pulls the paper down to reveal his face. It's not Robin. But then I realize it's another familiar actor, Robert Wagner, from the 70s TV detective series, Hart to Hart.

"Oh, I know who you are!" I exclaim.

"Do, you? Do you really?" The man is absolutely perturbed that I interrupted his reading and alone time. "Who am I then?"

"You're Robert Crane." At least I got the first name right.

A smile appears on his face. "Yes, yes I am."

Then the smile disappears from his face and I get a scolding.

"Why do you people insist on bothering us? Doesn't it look like I want to be alone here? What do you want from me? Do you want my autograph or something? Why can't you leave us alone? Great, you like our movies, etc. I suppose you dabble in filmmaking too and you want to tell me about it, hoping that I can help you make it in the business. Don't you realize that we hear this stuff all the time? It doesn't matter how you feel about me. Now leave me alone!"

My worst nightmare delivered. Funny how dreams can do that. How you can turn your dream in the direction you'd least like it to go while the dream is still in progress. I had to speak to set the record straight for all fans alike.

"Wait, wait. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you. But why are you saying these things? Don't you know it's a once in a lifetime thing for someone like me to meet someone like you? I mean, I grew up with you. You're a big part of my childhood. You mean something to me."

I see his face starting to soften, but I know that in order for it to stay that way I'll need to keep talking.

"I mean, it's not every day that I get to meet famous people. I understand it must be awful to go through your life where people know you and come up to you. I am sure that the "thank yous" are tiring and mean nothing to you after awhile. I can't even imagine how I would feel if people complimented me all day long. How they must seem meaningless because you hear them over and over again."

"Oh, what do you know?" he replies, albeit a little less angry-filled.

"Well, like take for instance the death of John Ritter, and the recent deaths of people like Whitney Houston. I can't even listen to her music at this point, it's such a shock that they've passed on so soon. Whitney was the soundtrack to my college years. I'd have her cassettes playing in my car when I drove to Michigan State from Western New York."

At this point I begin gesturing with my hands while some unknown black woman joins us in the room.

"I made that trip from Western New York through Ontario a total of 26 times during my college years." I'd move my hands in an arching motion to emphasize my trips across Canada. "And every time I'd listen to Whitney."

The woman in the room nods her head in agreement. Somehow I think my story is important to this 70s actor and nondescript woman.

"Let me ask you something," Robert interrupts. "Will you even remember me when I die?"

"Oh course I will! You're a part of me!" Then stupid things come out of mouth. "When someone famous dies did you ever Google them and see side-by-side images of how they looked in their heyday, and then how they look older? And you're like, man they didn't age well."

Surprisingly, this puts a smile on Robert's face, like he is guilty of it too.

Then the dream slowly fades with us engaging in a conversation, me feeling more and more like what I have to say is important, and Robert Crane, meaning Robert Wagner, really seems to care.

    Are dreams weird or what!

Robert Crane or Bob Crane, star of Hogan's Heroes sitcom, victim of an unsolved murder that revealed a secret sex life that may have included other men?

EDIT: OK, maybe change the name in your subject line.

    Too damn right!

I for one want to have at least a vague idea that there will be a satisfying/interesting pay off after investing my time before starting to read EPIC novels.

    So, you guessed it:

    TL; DR

    Good day sir!

Does Santa Claus count? He just dropped off some presents and left, I was hiding, knew if he saw me I'd get coal in my stocking.

At various stages or another, I've dreamt of Julia Roberts, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Sigourney Weaver and Bill Paxton.

Julia Roberts was walking with me along a street near a wrought-iron fence. We got stuck in a huge gust of wind and had to hold on to the fence to avoid being blown away.

Sigourney Weaver and Bill Paxton showed up in a dream that was similar to the Alien trilogy, except I was the lover of a male alien in humanoid form, Signorney and Bill were police officers chasing the alien because he was a criminal. The alien impregnated me while we were kissing and the chestburster was a penis o_O

Lady Gaga was on a stage and I was part of her dance troupe. Later on, we had sex O_O

Madonna, I can't quite remember what I dreamt about her, but she appeared in one dream at some point.

I rarely dream of celebrities, usually it's my family, archetypal characters, or lovers ! ^^

Also, wrestlervic, time-honoured question to ask icon_cool.gif : what do you think your dream means ?

Interesting that the two actors who appeared in your dream both have RW for initials.

...and here we were all trying to be polite and grown-up and trying to ignore the 400-lb. gorilla in the room.......

And this is why we cannot have nice things!

People you put on pedestals let you down....

You share personality traits with them, cause being the workings of your mind, you're what you've got to go on...

And you're lost trying to catch up to Robin Williams, whom dissed perhaps how you'd dis someone else? Then, find that when your next self manifest via celebridom/motion pictures comes in, he also dismisses you but in a way that you find agreeable, which would probably justify your dis from Robin?

Do you feel guilty for anything regarding work you've done with others in your field, or are you doubting your ability to make movies that people will enjoy?

I'm no pro, but this is what I think. icon_idea.gificon_wink.gif

You do know why Natalie Wood refused to take a shower on the yacht, right?

Yes, she preferred washing up on shore!

I'm guessing it means I have a fear of being rejected by famous people. ;-)
