During a fact-finding congressional trip to the Holy Land last summer, Rep. Kevin Yoder (R-Kan.) took off his clothes and jumped into the sea, joining a number of members, their families and GOP staff during a night out in Israel, the sources told POLITICO. Other participants, including the daughter of another congressman, swam fully clothed while some lawmakers partially disrobed. More than 20 people took part in the late-night dip in the sea, according to sources who were participants in the trip. ...

β€œA year ago, my wife, Brooke, and I joined colleagues for dinner at the Sea of Galilee in Israel. After dinner I followed some Members of Congress in a spontaneous and very brief dive into the sea and regrettably I jumped into the water without a swimsuit,” Yoder said in a statement to POLITICO. β€œIt is my greatest honor to represent the people of Kansas in Congress and [for] any embarrassment I have caused for my colleagues and constituents, I apologize.” ...

But Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), who was the senior most GOP lawmaker in Israel on the trip, was so upset about the antics that he rebuked the 30 lawmakers the morning after the Aug. 18, 2011, incident, saying they were distracting from the mission of the trip.

For most people a nude swim would not be a big deal, but I guess this is what happens when you continually preach about the morality of what other people do in their personal lives.

Ohhhhh yea...another feeble attempt at the dems favorite pastime -- DISTRACTION -- because when voting for President, the average American really gives a rat's ass about nude swimming in The Sea of Galilee icon_rolleyes.gif

So instead of you just putting the blame where it belongs, on the Congressmen who skinny dipped on tax-payers dollars...it's all just a libeal-plan to distract the American people? I thought one of the GOP's proudest flags was "accountability"?

I think you're the only one who's brought up the presidential race in this thread. And it sounds like the Republican leadership were the ones who were most bent out of shape about it.

If this had been a (D) Fox "News" would still be yapping about it.

Only in America is this news.icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif

And the FBI has been investigating for more than a year.icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif
Good thing that there are no more urgent things to investigate

What's so bad about getting drunk and skinny dipping?

That actually raises my respect for them...almost enough to actually think of them as 1% human.

Not that I'm an Olympic swimmer, but I've previously peed in that lake.
Makes some people choose to walk on the water rather than get in....
    (Skinny walking?)

On a more serious note (I think), heard something on the radio that some people were upset that he defied the holy waters. icon_rolleyes.gif

Next time you see someone with some "holy water" from the Jordan River (which runs out of the Sea of Galilee), you might want to point out that some of those drops may have encountered a congressman's wee-wee (not that this wouldn't be true even had he worn a suit) and that a fraction of it is my piss....

The fnny thing to me about all this, is that this junket was paid for by one of the USRAELI LOBBY AIPAC'S PARTNERS, Every year they take new congressional 'RECRUITS' on a all expenses paid for propaganda junket to Israel to buy their backing when it comes time to vote for Israels interests.

I'll bet these indoctrinaires weren't given the opportunity to do any skinny dipping in the West Bank River Water, Their hosts wouldn't want them seeing all the ugly Israeli separation walls/Checkpoints or to give them the unopportune chance of witnessing settlers harassing or attacking Palestinian farmers.
