http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0812/79887.htmlLike Akin, Ryan is a co-sponsor of the “Sanctity of Human Life Act,” a so-called personhood measure that defines life as beginning at “fertilization, cloning or its functional equivalent” and empowers the federal and state governments to pass laws to protect life from that point on. The bill makes no exception for rape.

Ryan has voted in favor of a restriction on federal funding for abortions — known as the Hyde Amendment — that includes exceptions when a pregnancy results from rape or incest, or endangers the life of the mother. The amendment, which has changed over the years, has maintained broad enough support in part because hard-line abortion foes have ben willing to accept the exemptions to ensure that the basic ban stays in place.

Ryan also was a co-sponsor of legislation banning taxpayer funding for abortions that included exemptions for “forcible rape,” incest and the endangerment of the mother’s life. Before the House passed that bill, known as the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the word “forcible” was removed because it offended some Republicans.

Tax Cheat Mitt Romney, Medicare Killer Paul Ryan, Legitimate Rape Todd Akin, and the rest of the Republican Party hates women, gays, students, poor people, seniors -- basically anybody who isn't a rich straight man.

    What else is new.

The guy claims that a woman can self abort a pregnancy from rape. Somehow women have the ability to "shut it all down" during that traumatic moment.

It's really sad to know that ignorant fucktards like this have influence in passing laws about things they know nothing about.

I think Todd Akin took "bro science" to another level. icon_confused.gif

    DEUTERONOMY 22:28-29

    28If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

Obama has close ties to Bill Clinton, Clinton was accused of rape several times and lied about having sex with a subordinate intern in office. ( Definition of sexual harassment.) It just was not a "stupid statement" In Clinton's case there is the dress and DNA to back it up.

In the same manner when other republicans have "lied" about sexual conduct democrats asked for them to resign. Nothing has happened to Clinton. In fact he is the Grand daddy of the party.

Akin said something real stupid. But for me the democratic screaming come from hypocrites.

Clinton is speaking at the DNC convention.

    Discuss.

Most of the "screaming" is coming from republicans. Demorcrats already know that republicans don't understand women or science. Also, Clinton isn't running in 2012 so that portion of your post can be disregarded as well.

Funny thing about bring up Clinton, seems to me the hyposcricy on this subject from the Repugs is mind bending.

Clinton quashed the facts proving Reagan/Bush paid off Iran to hold our embassy prisoners long enough for them to get elected, BECAUSE THE FACTS WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY (read Robert Parry's research on this)

Yet the Republicans dragged the whole country through a $75 million dollar investigation over Clintons sexual misadventure because he lied to cover it up. IRONICALLY THIS PUBLIC SPECTACLE WAS LED BY GINGRICH WHO WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS OWN SEXUAL AFFAIR WHILE HIS WIFE LAY IN A HOSPITAL

NOW DO TELL US WHICH OF THE ABOVE LIES WAS OF THE MOST CONSEQUENCE?

WHICH ONE WAS OR WOULD HAVE BEEN WORTH SPENDING MILLIONS ON DISCOVERING THE TRUTH ?

The fact this man was voted by actual people to be in control of anything is beyond me.

legitimate rape?!?!?!!? I was listening to what he said, "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to shut that whole thing down" <---- what the blue fuck does that even mean?!!?

so this jackass is saying if you're "legitimately raped" your body can fight it off like the sperm knows its wrong so it wont swim to the ovaries.

    Rape sperm i rebuke thee

and that Ann Romney chick and her statement saying women should NOT want to be paid the same as men.

throw this stupid bitch in the ocean too
    http://www.freewoodpost.com/2012/04/18/ann-romney-why-should-women-be-paid-equal-to-men/

God damn, where the fuck are these lame weirdo republicans from.

anyone voting for them please share what it is you see that made you come to the conclusion, "this party/this person has my vote" and im not trying to start an argument i just flat out don't understand.

What's really scary is the fact that Paul "Pretty Boy" Ryan - the VP pick on the Repub party's presidential ticket - shares the same dumbfuck radical religious-right views that Akin does.

In fact Akin and Ryan worked closely together to try to get legislation passed that would've forced their crazy nuts religious-right views re: rape on the women of America.

And now Mike Huckabee has weighed in also, helpfully informing us of all the wonderful things rape has done:

    Republicans are insane.

I don't think Obama needs to do any campaigning.

Just give the Republicans air-time and they shoot themselves in the foot (feet).

The Democrats must be loving this.

The only problem is that every time the Repubs screw up and reveal their idiocy and extreme ideology - the pathetic MSM either fail to report it - or they try to discount it by playing the "both sides do it" card.

If the MSM was doing it's job - everyone (except the religious right-wing fringe) would be turned off by the extreme ideology advocated by Ryan/Romney - and by the flat-out lies being peddled by the Romney campaign.

Well as one of the well known republican posters on here said in another thread
(to paraphrase), "This isn't a national story and it won't last". Of course, I pointed out that it is a national story....lol..

I think this has the potential to define a chunk of rest of the race... putting radical social views "front and center", reminding voters where the republican candidates sit on such issues. Aiken and Paul Ryan do share many of the same views... that almost (almost) got overlooked with all the budget and medicare discussion.

So, will Aiken's reveiling comments have national impact long term, we'll see.
I think its already been a "bomb" that blew up in the republican's face!
