Pro-life group say marriage equality could lead to an increase in abortions

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), a pro-life and anti-LGBT group, have issued a flyer urging people to write to their MP in protest at the government’s plans for marriage equality because they believe it could lead to an increase in abortions.

This is great news. The more loony, irrational and hysterical they become the chances probably increase that normal people will do the opposite of what they yammer about.

Many glbt people and their supporters have done a lot work to bring about gay rights and a change of attitudes towards gay people and things really have changed for the good over the years, but I do think the craziness of the far right and the things they say has helped bring about some of that change. In an odd way, they're helping in the fight for equality.

I wouldn't be quite so optimistic. Homosexuality used to be considered a mental disorder.

True, but that changed. Psychologists realized that out gays and lesbians tend to be much better-adjusted than closet cases, so they re-evaluated their position.

This? This is a massive misunderstanding of basic biology. (Like, really basic stuff.)

Apparently the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children doesn't understand how reproduction works...
