http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2012/08/congressman-steve-king-dont-get-pregant-from-incest-rapeTodd Akin finally found what he needs most*: a friend. Congressman Steve King, the Iowa politician who once argued that Barack Obama’s middle name would have a “a chilling aspect” [sic] on the global war on terror, has, naturally, rushed to Akin’s side (in a heterosexual way).

Talking Points Memo reports that on Monday, “King told an Iowa reporter he’s never heard of a child getting pregnant from statutory rape or incest.” At a campaign event in Iowa, King said, “Well I just haven’t heard of [statutory rape or incest] being a circumstance that’s been brought to me in any personal way, and I’d be open to discussion about that subject matter.” In other words, King is doubtful because he has never personally, knowingly encountered a pregnant victim of statutory rape or incest.
