The Repub party is redrafting their official party platform for 2012 - as they always do every four years at the time of their presidential nominating convention.

This election year - some of the most stridently anti-gay voices in the Repub party have been allowed to draft a plank in the Republican Party platform specifically opposing marriage equality for gay Americans.

Any claims you may have heard about the Repub party becoming more supportive of equal rights for gay Americans is totally false.

The Repub agenda is every bit as anti-gay as ever - and as the words they've chosen to place in their platform make clear - they're committed to fighting tooth and nail to try to prevent gay Americans from having the same equal rights that straight Americans have.

THIS JUST IN: Water is wet! More to follow...

The only people even remotely shocked by this will be gay conservatives, who swear up and down that the Republican Party is more welcoming to gays than the Democratic Party.

The Republican Party is in the midst of a death struggle with its far right fringe, which wants to sacrifice the whole country to its love of money and hatred of women, immigrants, gays, students, seniors, workers, and the poor.

Anybody who votes for Romney-Ryan at this point is either not paying attention or batshit crazy.
