    Can anyone recommend a B&B in SF? Not too expensive. We prefer a room with a private bathroom. We would like to stay near the Castro district, but open to other areas as well (we stayed in Nob Hill last year and thoroughly enjoyed that area).

    thank you.

    Castro Garden Suite $220 Per night Entire home/apt — Noe St, San Francisco (Castro)

    Found the above on AirBnB.com.

    also this one;

    San Francisco Mission Secret $96 Per night Entire home/apt — York St, San Francisco (Potrero)

    AirBnB, despite the name, seems to offer homes/apts. rather than bed&breakfasts.

    I stayed at Belvedere House several years ago and enjoyed it. I'm not sure that I will be staying there next week when in the city. The location is above the Castro. It's not a bad walk downhill, but coming up requires a taxi or a bus if you are not in shape. It was a small walk to the Muni line for connecting with BART. An attempt was made to list the rates, but Mr Slick here hasn't learned to control the size of images. Check the website for reasonable rates.

    It's walking distance to Castro and a much better experience, tons to do in that area.
