    I would vote for the Repub in this case.

    What matters to me is where the candidate stands on the issues - not their party identification.

    But of course we all know that this one race stands in stark contrast to all the other races this election year.

    In all the other races it's going to be an anti-gay anti-choice Repub running against a pro-gay and pro-choice Democrat.

    Unfortunately, one of the times when it is good to not have a Democrat win, there is a very good chance she will win. Dakota Bass, the Republican in the race, is a 20 year old newcomer to politics and ran as a Republican because there was no one else in the race. Before running for the seat he was chairman of the Kansas Progressive Caucus and is opposed to most of policies of Republican Governor Sam Brownback. Democrat Jan Pauls is an evil bitch and Republican Dakota Bass needs to win this seat.

    It's a far-off "future".
    The Repubs will have to be forced to change - and it will take decades for it to happen.

    And they'll only change because they have to (in order to be able to win elections) - not because they want to.
