This is a heartwarming story, although I can't believe there are still jerks out there who would damage someone's property like this.

That happened to one of my teachers in high school (who was openly gay in the 1980's) when his car got trashed...all four tires slashed, and turned up on it's side.

The local body shop fixed it for free. It soon went out of business for doing that, cause back then being gay was much more taboo than it is now.

Just at the end, where the body shop owner said he came forward to help, and joined with 10 other companies to share the cost...and that the repairs totaled $10k...

    Wow! That is awesome!

Excellent. And the autoshop guy was a cutie, too, IMO.

Here is the body shop's email page to send them a "Thank You" for being such great people. I think it would be great if they got a bunch of such messages from all over.

    http://qualityautopaintandbody.com/email-us/

    Here's what I sent:

The news report of the work you and the other nine companies that you coordinated did on Jordan Addison's car has hit the Internet. I just wanted to say what wonderful people you all are. You didn't have to do a thing for that fellow. Yet your adversion to bullying moved you to help him because he was a victim. Your actions remind me that there are good people in this world, inspite of what we see on the news every night. You all also reflect well on Virginia. Thank all of you for being such good people. You did a most wonderful thing.

    Sincerely,

    David ______

My note to Richard Henegar went out as well. I wanted to express my thanks to him - and to the others he brought together to help right the wrong that was done.

I hope more and more people will soon realize that hating on gays and others is completely out of style, and only shows the perpetrator to be an ignorant slob - on the lowest rung of humanity.

Makes me a little proud to be a Virginian, just today. I sent them a note and linked the Towleroad report on this in Facebook.
