Doing research for a novel I'm writing, I look for any information I can find on the landmark TV series, Good Times. One of the main writers who pitched the show was Eric Monte, a black man who grew up in Cabrini-Green, the Chicago housing project that the fictitious show is set in. Monte also pitched and developed The Jeffersons, What's Happening?, Moesha, and many other sitcoms.

He now resides in a homeless shelter. Here is an interview snippet that I found very important. I hope you'll watch it all.
