So, suppose you saved a multi-billionaire from choking in a restaurant (or gave him the best blow job he's ever had....or agreed to stay away from his college-aged son) and he told you to pick out your dream car, no expense spared. What is it?
    I want a Aston-Martin One-77 because driving a $2,000,000 car at 220 mph seems kind of fun

It is so wrong that the first thing I thought of was "Who's paying for the insurance?"

I am way to practical-minded for my own good. icon_rolleyes.gif

I do have a practical question I need answered. If someone buys you a luxury vehicle do you have to pay a tax on that?

All of a sudden this sounds like a real life scenario.

If it's a gift, no. If it's a contest prize, yes.

    Lol....

    Typical day at the DMV.....

So, how much did you pay for the car?

I paid nothing, it was a gift.

The Blue Book value is $20,000

    I paid $1500

    You owe $1200 in taxes......*smirk*

Can't I just have him love me. Oh, that, and world peace.

By the way, you better hope that 77 comes with a trust fund for the incidentals

    fuel
    tires
    brakes
    general maintenance
besides the deductible, what's insurance cost these days for a $2mm car? $20? $50k?/year. So you'll be needing at least another million put aside just to generate the funds to keep that free gift.

    Happy motoring.

Ha! And the first thing that crossed my mind was how much gasoline that thing uses.

It is an awesome car, but I could not afford the security team I would need to keep it safe. icon_sad.gif

(In all honesty, I'd rather have a condo in Lake Point Tower and just walk everywhere).

Could I just have enough cash to pay off my mortgage and pay the taxes on that money? I don't really care about cars.

A lot of those luxury cars are very expensive to upkeep and insure. I would not recommend anyone keeping a car like that unless they can afford to take care of it properly.

Also, I'd be extra bougie and get a dark blue or red interior.

I already have my dream car, but if someone was to buy me any kind of car and money was no object (only around $20K), I'd like another 1969 Lincoln Mark III like I had a few years back. Must be Medium Lime Metallic with a dark ivy gold interior. It would look great next to my '70 Caddy convertible.

I just want whichever car I could sell for a good price with the least amount of effort and use the money for better things. I guess I'm also too practical-minded.

Ever heard of HOA-fees? Bet they don't come cheap in there either. And property taxes? Depending on the value of the property.

I want that billionaire to pay of my mortgage as well. I already have all the car that I need.
