In this past year I've become more aware of my name and identity on the internet. Most surprising were old dating accounts I had online that turned up with a google search of myself. However, my RJ account is not something I would have shame for people to find, unless it was a potential employer.
I tried it and nothing special came up. I have accounts on a lot of different websites, but surprisingly only 1 came up (a video game website I occasionaly post on). Other than that, just a bunch of random people who have the same name. I don't post a lot of personal stuff on the internet though, that may be part of it. And here I was thinking my name was special
There are 97 people in world that share my name. One of these is a somewhat notorious prisoner and is one of the first results in a search. He is also the same age as me and before going into prison had the same job I have, and so I hope there is no one from high school or college looking to see what happened to me is coming across that story. Probably also not good for potential employers looking into my background.
My name is unique so I do it quite often to make sure nothing I want "public" or linked to me shows up that I don't want. I've googled images too to make sure they don't link to these types of sites just in case.
My name is so common, that there is even someone with the same name and date of birth in the UK, there are also magicians, professors of atmospherics, and even a Dr (dental) who murdered his wife and ended up on death row (currently I think still serving a life sentance!)
