She showed a determination and soberness that was appropriate to a still doubting public. No one speech is going to turn an election. But Ann Romney delivered as promised. Romney and his team should consider themselves lucky to have a candidate’s wife who can look her fellow Americans in the eye and sound both sincere and ebullient. She is indeed his greatest asset.

She didnt tell us anything we dont already know. And we dot need his wife to tell us what he is or isnt. We can judge for ourselves. Ann Romney is not his greatest asset. Mitts greatest asset is his extreme wealth, which he will try to use to buy this election. The Romneys arent fooling nobody but the people who would vote for him anyway just because he has an (R) after his name.

I watched and listened to her whole speech and that woman is obviously 'plastic' and totally out of touch with the average american just as is her husband. They're like robots, stiff like boards and fake like 'plastic'. About as genuine as 'fools gold' !!!!

That speach of hers fell flat and really flopped when her stiff unemotional husband walked out to join her. I don't want these Romney's representing me nor my country, expecially not when considering who this guy's sugar daddies are. He owes far too many favors to them for their money and his past performance shows that their interests will take priority over the average Americans interests.

I suppose you see the ability of getting things done and successfully so, to be offensive - but that's certainly your prerogative. Her speech was quite well received amongst many pundits who attempted to be objective.

As for favors owed? Like which? If any many of them owe him a lot of favors - considering how well he performed as money manager.

One key quote: "Mitt doesn’t like to talk about how he has helped others because he sees it as a privilege, not a political talking point."

You ignore a lot to back these people who will be benefiting you HOW ?

We Americans are realing over the failures of Bush/Romney styled economics and war adventurism policies/costs, the last thing we need to do is go backwards. Theyve done enough obvious damage so lets not have any repeats.

    D'oh.

As for your accolades to her, Riddler, she's not running in the election.

    Given that's he's 65, isn't that a lost cause?

I agree. I thought her speech was cringe-worthy. Whenever she tries to relate with average Americans, she seems fake as hell. People who can't see that are wearing rose-colored glasses.

I sure hope so GQjock !!! LMAO, God if Tina Fey goes blond and does a skit on this 'plastic' Romney woman it would be an even bigger hit than what she did with the Palin woman.

OMG.. somebody adopted my terminology and took it a step further..
The "Romney woman" in place of the "Palin woman"....

Sounds funny, but I have to say, the name "Palin woman" came from the disrespect I felt for Palin. I really don't have any negative feelings for Ann Romney at this point, so don't know if I can reference her that way.
She'd have to take some "boneheaded steps" like the Palin woman did to justify such a title. I guess we'll see.

    Pretty funny there!

By the way, I wasn't iompressed with her speech

My thing with the 'Romney woman' and her Husband is; They are so obviously out of touch with everyday Americans that they could practice for ten years at trying to come off as genuine and it will never work. They are PRIVILEGED and they just cannot relate. She talks abot raising 5 kids and how hard it was, well damn I'll bet it was rough with five kids on their several hundred thousand dollar boat, or on their way to their ocean home or any of the other multiple homes they've had.

The cannot relate because they've never lived the average American life. Romney was born into money and privilege, they have no idea what it is to get the house payment paid, fill up the car with gas to get to work on any given week, then wonder how to stretch the food until next payday.
