I can't be the only one out there. Granted the Republican party platform isn't the best, but I see it as the lesser of the two evils. With the upcoming election, I'm still in the middle and have no clue who I am going to vote for.

Yes it is possible. I consider myself to be one. Used to think of myself as an independent, but changed to republican. For the most part I side with republicans on most issues, just a few key ones that I disagree with them on. But I could never consider myself a democrat. There are a few issues I agree with them on ,but the rest I passionately disagree with.
Remember people, you don't have to agree with them on every issue, just most of them.

Exactly. Its all about how you view the issue not what features defines you as a person.

You can be a republican if you want to partner with the Christian fundi's, the TBaggers, the Birthers and etc. that ae the fire and driver of the Republican Party. Take a look at the topic about Christian Fundi Preachers warning of God driven catastrophy's based on their religious fanaticism.

Read all the comments from these people, then imagine yourself voting with them and siding with them as the groups who have pushed the republican party to historic extremes of interference in personal rights.

But if you can take a good hard look at this far right Republican Party and vote against your and other minorities, the elderly, the disabled, the poor interests, then go ahead, Its your vote whether you vote for or against your sworn enemies. Just sayin !!!

But anyway, I probably would be considered a Republican. I was even considering registering GOP to become a delegate, attend state conventions to work on platform change, etc.

But after the GOP adopted further anti-gay views, and the way they treated the Ron Paul delegates yesterday...oh yeah, and the way they arbitrarily changed the rules so that the rules can be changed between conventions...I'm too disgusted to register GOP right now.

socalfitness saidWhether you are a registered Republican or plan to vote against the incumbent, you are probably labeled Republican here. You are far from being alone. Many of us are passionate about what the current administration is doing to damage the country, and that drives the vote. Voting Republican is not inconsistent with being moderate as a counter-balance to the fundamentalists.

You of all people are talking out of 'school', As much as you've defended the Crhistian Fundi's, the TBaggers and Birthers, YOU'RE RIGHT IN THERE WITH THEM. These are your partners buddy, don't even try to divorce yourself from them.

By the way, SoCal, did you read from your Fundi Fanatic Partners on God's wrath coming down on the Repubs for pushing Israel to give up land ? LOL !!!

Godamn, you and they make strange bedfellows

This may suprize you, but to my way of thinking Ron Paul has some great ideas, particularly his foreign policy ideas. I'm not with him though on social issues except for where he promotes live and let live. But he and his son are against fed rules promoting anti discrimination where businesses are open to the public and must grant access to all races. Thats where me and Paul separate.

That's where I have to disagree with him too. I strongly believe in the Tenth Amendment and the separation of federal and state powers, but that doesn't mean that the Tenth Amendment gives all 50 states carte blanche to deny people basic human rights.

State and local government can be just as much of a leviathan as federal government.

Of course it is possible. You just have to put aside your dignity and self-respect and be unscrupulous.

Let me guess you're fiscally conservative and socially liberal. That is the easy way most people put it. Which doesn't really make sense because at the end of the day you still vote republican.

I consider myself an independent as I would vote for a republican if they were not so blinded by religion. I cannot vote for anyone who uses the bible as a structure on how to run this country. When they created the 1st Amendment it protected freedom of religion but it also protected us that do not want religion running our lives.

Vote for who you feel will do the best job for you and not anybody else.

Of course it's possible. I was raised Republican. But then, I haven't seen a Republican policy or candidate I could vote for for, what, about 35 years...
