I am contemplating writing a heartfelt letter to my parents, who are staunch republicans, to not vote for Romney in November. The thought of them voting for a man who bullied a gay kid and cut off his hair is so disgusting I want to vomit all over Romney's grinning-idiot face. I came out to them when I was 16 and they accept me for who I am (for the most part).
I feel that they are perpetrating a hate crime by voting for a party that boos gay soldiers in the military, that wants to restrict freedoms of a minority via constitutional amendment, that doesn't want gay individuals adopting or teaching kids, and that is so up tight about it all that they end up blowing men in airport restrooms.
The other side of me, though, wants them to make that choice themselves. This is a mostly free country and we can vote for who we want and I am typically not one to get into heated political debates because they lead nowhere. It is just that I can't stand to think about my parents supporting a party that wants me dead (you know it, I know it).

    Thoughts?
