    It's shameful that the U.S. has double the childhood deaths of children under 5 than Norway.

    While I'm embarrassed to say this... I believe it's important that I say it .. just so it might share a bit of insight about many of the wealthy in this country and the views they are either raised to have or otherwise adopt due to their disconnect from the rest of society.

    When young... my view was that the country should stop all welfare and food stamps.... all the poor would starve or die from sickness... and we'd no longer have to be concerned about them.

    I was perhaps 15 or so at the time.

    YES, my views have drastically changed. But... I believe it's an example of the disconnect in this country and that some hold on to similar childish, privileged, dogmas.
