Experiences of the Stronglifts 5x5 workout

    I've seen this around online and have started the work out last week doing ABAB each week. Has anyone else here been following this workout? How are your results?

    Workout A

    Squat 5x5
    Bent over row 5x5
    Bench press 5x5

    Workout B

    Squat 5x5
    Military shoulder press 5x5
    Deadlift 1x5

    If you want to get stronger, then that is sure going to do it.

    It's very much a variation of work outs punted by Reg Parks in the 1960's for bodybuilders and powerlifters, although with way less sets. I followed Reg Parks training for a few months and really improved my lifts. This leads to more size gains when you switch to more traditional training like H.I.T.

    Probably not the best sort of workout if you're looking just to get fitter or put on some muscle.

    Is the second AB not supposed to be at 80% of the weight used in the first AB?
