I was in SF this weekend and the big news with a few folks was the reopening of the Eagle Bar (new owners, so likely not to be the Eagle Tavern).

Bring back the Sunday Beer Bust and the world will be a happier and crusier (not a real word, I know) place.

The mistake the last owners made was NOT wanting it to be a "leather" bar, which it always had been. Even on Saturday nights, you could have thrown a bowling ball through that place, and never hit anybody.

Before that, the Eagle leather bar attracted big crowds, especially for the Sunday beer busts which were sponsored by one gay charity or another, serving food and beer, or soda. It's a large space, with a large patio.

Hopefully, the new owners will encourage the leather men of San Francisco to make it their home, again.

YAY! I love the Sunday beer bust.
When I first came out, my bf liked going here and I felt so out of place and the more I was there the more I realized, these guys in leather with tattoos were just like me and every bit as nice. Broadened my comfort zone! Can't wait to go back.
