Has anyone seen this documentary? I'm planning on watching it when I get home from work.

It's pretty good, though I don't have Christian sensibilities, so I can't remember if it calls out Christians in general or not. I think it just sticks to criticizing the passages people invoke to condemn homosexuality.

Saw it in theaters a few years ago. My partner had to keep telling me to sit the F down and stop clapping until it was over. icon_razz.gif

I have the DVD, so I've seen it more than once. I don't know about you, but I like to have a box of kleenex handy when I watch this.

Fortunately those people don't have the monopoly on brain usage and analytical ability. Neither do they have the monopoly on Biblical interpretation.

Just tell them that they don't really believe that homosexuality is an abomination. Because if they really believed it and we're all upset because it was an abomination, then they would be equally vociferous about eating shrimp. And they ain't, Blanche, they ain't. So they are being motivated purely by hate.

So I finally watched the documentary. It's more geared at gay Christians, which I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand religions must accept gays because they have historically been leaders of gay oppression. On the other hand, I'm personally tired of people upholding fairytales. It's always disenchanting to see people center their beliefs around fictional characters rather than actual people and science.
