I'm not really a fan of his, but Federer, definitely. I think he's pissed about losing the French Open so he'll be especially strong and focused.

Nadal will be lucky to make it through his matches without retiring. He also better hope it's hot and humid in NYC so he can grind out some matches. My money is on Djokovic (because with the odds Fed will get, you'd actually lose money betting on Fed) as long as he gets a good draw.

Women's side really just depends on how healthy Justine, Serena and Venus are. If all are 100% I'd have to go with Venus, but who knows? I think Henin is the safe pick as of now.

Djokovic is looking good and he IS my pic, but I wonder if he can keep up the performance and hasn't peaked too soon during the summer hardcourt season. It's hard to pick against Federer (even tho I do it every time).

    Well. Federer again in Cincinati..
Feeling great for Blake but all of a sudden Federer comes and goes in no time..
This makes me belive that he for whatever reason cannot bring out his best against some other players like Nadal, Djokovic, and Canas...Against others he is like at his best all the time..
Congrats to his 50th title even though I am not a fan of him at all.

If you know anything about women's tennis you know Jankovic cannot hold a lead against the top players and her mental game is in the shitter. In order for her to win, she'll have to be handed the title on a silver platter, which is very unlikely if she faces Henin or Serena.

TennisRafa.. do not be soo dramatic and rational about a young talented tennis player like Jankovic. Go back to your lessons about Federer and how terrible he was handling his mental side. Anyone can improve with time, will and dedication.
She has that potential in her.

So you're saying Jankovic could be the best female tennis player (possibly, the greatest of all time like Federer?) I'm not saying she won't ever win a major, but she's already 22 and plays WAAAAY more than anyone else -- singles and doubles almost every week. I just don't know how many more years her body can take that. We all know what happened to the last woman that played that much, and Clijsters was the offspring of two seasoned athletes. Her genes were made for athletics and she still couldn't handle the wear and tear.

But there isn't anything I hate about her game, so I'd love Jankovic to prove me wrong, to show me that women can play a demanding schedule like the men, remain mostly healthy for the entire year and still win a few events.

on the men's side you almost have to go with federer. boring i know, but he can elevate his game to an unbelieveable level unlilke anyone i have ever seen. the only one i think could beat him is djokovic (him beating roddick, nadal, and RF in three straight days in tourney right before the Open really got my attention. my wish would be for andy to pull it out somehow, but i dont think he can get past the mental block he has with RF. the only two men on the tour that believe they can beat RF are nadal and djokovic (and rightly so).

venus looks pretty good so far. henin is very consistent and if serena doesn't self destruct she may get by her in the QF. but then she gets to play her sister in the SF and i pick venus to win it all. the side of the draw that maria sharapova was on is WIDE open now, so who knows what will happen there...stay tuned.

One of the Sisters will win for the women..hopefully Venus. As boring as it will be..Federer will probably win for the men. He's a beast on every surface...including clay. I'm not sleeping on Nadal and Djokovic though..they're coming for Fed's ass.

They can't. They are in the same half of the draw. Maybe in the semi's.

Venus is playing the error-ridden, yet aggressive tennis that has got her to the top before. She's managing to win the points that matter, though, and that really seems to wear down her opponents mentally. She has a tough draw, but if she gets through Serena, I believe it's hers to lose.

Watching Federer turn it on after he lost a set against the tall guy was amazing. The guy can't lose this. Nadal is hurting. It makes me wonder if he's overtraining.

Though I'd love to see someone else win it, Fed seems good for one more major. And Venus looks pretty good for it if she gets through Henin (cuz Henin is gonna beat Serena).

Oh man, I hate to say it but I am so happy James Blake lost another 5-setter. As if shared bloodline weren't enough to make me love Tommy Haas, I love him more than ever for knocking out Blake.

Anyone else pumped for Justine v. Serena: Round 3 tomorrow night? I am blessed to have tickets to see it, and I'm gonna bust out my Belgian flag and face pant for my girl Justine.
