How to avoid a gay gym body?

lol i'm finally asking jock questions after joining the forum for most of a year. I've been dating guys for several years now but only recently been sexually active... or at least tried to be. Turns out everyone assumes I'm a bottom, meaning I'll have to get bigger to attract the right kind of guy lol (actually i like them looking exactly the same as now, but no tops plz)

Anyway I saw some black drummers outside Eaton Centre and they seem to have exactly the kind of bodies I want to achieve (wide shoulders, bulging muscles in just the right places but slim at the same time)... sort of the opposite to the stocky lordosised gay guys I see at Goodlife. A few of my friends tried to get big and ended up in the latter category. How do I avoid this?! What kind of protein should I take? I want to be able to convince others that I didn't get that body from the gym but rather some sexy sport lol.

On second thought, what would those sports be? I actually hate going to the gym (seems like thousands of hours wasted without learning a skill)... maybe i might rather spend twice as much time on "equivalent" sports and pick up something?

Try Insanity or some other kind of plyometrics that use just body weight.
Running, swimming, bodyweight exercises, abs and core work should all help you get toned without overly bulking up. There's probably tons of threads like this on bodybuilding forums and lots you can read on the topic in the library or on the web. As far as sports, join up with a league and have fun, soccer or lacrosse or something where you get a lot of running in. Or get on your bike.

Honestly just eat right and if I were you, I wouldn't worry about protein or diving into any kind of supplements. Eat a solid healthy diet, cut out the soda and the other crap, and your body will respond. If you were looking to become a gym bunny, you would have to worry about protein shakes and other stuff like that, but it sounds to me you just want to get more toned and fit.

    I second that.

lordosised? no idea, but I can honestly say you're a power bottom if I ever saw one.

LOL- funny post. i must agree with you. After spending 1000s of hours in a gym - then what? so you think you have the perfect shape then what? It's all smoke and mirrors. it's all insecurities that we think we can hide under some muscle. Smoke and mirrors really.

Most sports call for some sort of strength training - well except for perhaps the NFL.

It sounds like you need to take up drumming.

African Americans and Caucasians have different musculoskeletal systems. It sounds like you'll be hard pressed to mould your body into the one that you're idolizing. Why don't you train and see where it takes you? If you want bigger shoulders, do more shoulders, if you want a smaller waist, never eat a carb again, etc. icon_lol.gif It's not as if you start training you're going to just "wind up" with a body that displeases you, i.e. a "stocky lordosised" body.

Or just find an Olympian's body that you like and start training like a mo fo for 12 hours a day. Then you'll be learning "a skill," as you put it.
