hey y'all - it's me, funquita. sorry, i'm drunk (as my other posts this evening probably indicate). anyway, i'm meeting a guy from realjock for the first time and i'm NOT nervous. it feels right to meet him. he's flying into charlotte all the way from los angeles! i'm so excited. we're gonna drive the blue ridge parkway in my miata with the top down. he'll be here for a few days. he's such a sweet heart. we chatted, texted, talked, etc. i like him alot. he's a pocket rocket for sure. he's got some insecurities about meeting me, but he shouldn't.

anyway, the point of this thread:

have you found that the people you meet on realjock are a notch or two above the people you meet from other sites?

There are a couple sexy guys here that I totally dig their brain and brawn and I don't want to feel jealous...Totally good men here on RJ.

but they gotta be a notch or two above the guy I met from here.

Of course, I would never mention eb's name and embarrass him....but being with him has got to have been the longest 5 minutes in my life.

Meet? From Realjock? Other then my buddy TheFreeman (who I knew a few years before this site), the only other active member near me is FitguyMike, and that's a good four hours away.

I met muchmorethanmuscle a while back and have hung out with him a few times (he's right next door practically). It's always a little awkward meeting new people, but we got over it pretty quickly. He's super duper way cool and puts up with my severe ADHD while shopping. "Oooh, blueberries! Where's the chicken breasts? That chick has major camel-toe. I wonder if this comes in orange? I like cheese!"

And to answer the question, yes RJ people are a cut above. One of my bestest ever friends in the world badmikeyt (the only person I know sassier than myself) is on here and MV03 (just as cute as a bug's ear) is another awesome guy I know in real life.

I'm sure this guy will go absolutely ga-ga over ya Jaqueeta!. How could he resist? Why, I myself spank it to your pics at least 17 times a day. 20 on Sundays even!

Well, as you can tell by the kayaking meetup thread, the guys that I've met from here (or talked with on the phone) have been top notch. Granted, they are a select bunch, as I probably wouldn't meet just anyone from here, but the one's I've met have been really nice.

The only guy I've "met" here is someone who's been a friend of mine for 15 years, so that don't hardly count.

I have met three RJ members and all were great. No unpleasant surprises, the latest person was JMS84 who I had a beer with along with his bf and other friends on Montreal pride weekend.

I've met several RJ members including KANSWIM (who became my official RJ photographer) and several others who are great guys.

I feel like I've met a number of others through great friendships on this site and no doubt we will meet in person rather than frequent phone calls.

Jack, your a great guy, always so funny. I hope we get to hear about the visit!

Yes and no. I've met/encountered some guys who were above board and top notch...and I've met a couple who were using RJ the same as they use Manhunt. They just weren't being 100% upfront about it.

Totally rad. Before you answered my question I was thinking about what you meant with all the RealJock shirts you might see around the world these days.

If I saw somebody with that shirt I don't know what I would do. It just might stir me to give a compliment and invite him over. (emphasis on the HIM)

At Matt just said, these guys were great. It was a bit strange when we thought about it - we clicked so fast but that may have largely been because we already 'knew' about one another so we were just picking up on conversations 'in person' that we'd all been a part of.

That said, can NOT wait for the paintball meeting!

Yup, the guys I've met from here have been great! Iguanasf is one of my best friends now, and Chemguy79,
Rwking, Skinz, TheSoccerGuy4, Todd_W, Wave173 and I have all hung out together and separately and had a lot of fun. Raleigh meet-ups are the best! The funny part came from sometimes calling each other our RJ names instead of our real names....

I have hung out with MPLSGUYhttp://www.realjock.com/profile/108907/ and he has the best disposition. I actually saw him in passing last weekend and my friend who was in town from LA said "OMG, you know him?"

I go to the same gym as swimjockmn, also a great guy.

Although sodakguy and I have had our moments of disagreements, I have seen him around town as well and he looks like a fun, attractive guy.

So , all in all, I would say the guys on here, in my experience, are already too good to be true... but even better in person.

Well, I can only assume that there is another person you've met with the name that has eb!! I flew across the country to visit you also...oh what a surprise I found, and you weren't even drunk! Perhaps I should have been, might have helped the 5 minutes go faster for me.

Dancer, good luck. Always fun to meet someone new in person and I think being on here does tend to classify a person into a category of perhaps more compatibility than your other sites might (unless one time, hop in the sack sex only is your objective). Now sober up and down a few breath mints before he arrives!

This is the best site around - the only one I care about. I've talked with a number of RJ guys by phone countless times, four of whom I actually see in person here in Arizona. I can tell you that RJ guys - like fraternity brothers - are a cut above the rest!

I've met two folks from here that I didn't know already, yalemarine, who is really an incredible bundle of leg-shaking cake-baking all-around amazing... er... human-shaped stuff, and danteca, who is even more smart, sensitive, and adorable than his profile indicates.

I'm hoping one day to meet the matching set of sedative and onmyway, two of the most amazing 20 somethings on here, and jprichva, who I want to be like when I grow up, if I ever do.

So... cut above? Oh yes, definitely. And I haven't even had sex with any of them! Go figure!

How in the hell do you people find so much time to travel???? I can barely do all the things I'd like to do in my own city!



(I say that as someone who had dinner last week with an RJer who was in my city for work. )

There is no doubt in my mind that the guys here at RJ are a cut above the norm found on other sites. I know that the few I have met have far exceeded my expectations, and I was very happy that it wasn't all about hooking up. Refreshing to say the least.

As I haven't met guys from other sites (since I've never been to other sites), I cannot say for certain that the RJ boys are a definite cut above the others, but having, um, encountered with several of the, ahem, jocks, I can, and do, whole-heartedly assert, that they look EXACTLY like their profiles---and that still floors me every single time!

Now accepting Autumn/Winter reservations for visitors from... San Francisco... Minneapolis... Austin... Moose Jaw...

I'll be heading out to San Francisco in October and will meet Fastprof and hopefully Jsttennis. I am really looking forward to it as I have corresponded at length with both of them and have found them to be quite interesting and stand up gentlemen.
Gwgtrunks, I'll be in lincoln for a wedding in October as well. Perhaps we can meet for a drink when I'm there. Or I can let you know the next time I'm in Omaha.

Well, jeffinsf (RJ founder) and I just had dinner last week. It was great, and it was special finally meeting this intelligent and sweet guy.

As fitguymike pointed out below, he's coming out and staying with me, and we're spending time across a couple of Halloween Parties I throw (more on the "gay" party another time....all are invited!!). I am planning to invite jstennis, and jeffinsf, drstorm and dfrourke already know they are invited, all local RJers.

I agree with someone else's comment that the guys I have met generally here are superior to any others I have met on an internet connections site. I did meet one incredible jerk early on in my experience here (back in January 2007), but he is thankfully gone from the site.

Aero...the invitation is still open for you to come out to SF....and there are bunch of others who are my buddies here (and hotlisters) whom I'd love to meet.

I have met one in person and have seen him a couple of times. I have talked to a few via web cam as well. I will say that each one was great. I have never met anyone off of any other site, but I can def say the in person meet up was great.

Well, I tend to think the caliber of guys on here is higher than most sites...higher than meeting some dude at a bar. I recently spent a weekend with a guy I met off here and he ended up being a total player and not a good guy in the end but...I definitely have chatted with some really awesome people offa here--definitely good for making connections when I travel. just gotta find the good ones and weed out the ones who'll say anything to get into your pants.

Absolutely not. People are people. To prejudge someone or to have a preconceived notion that they are a certain way or that they rate a bit higher than someone else is not only short-sighted, it kind of narrow minded...don't you think?

Do you ever consider the content of the person's character as oppose to how much eye candy they are? They are good and bad people every where in all walks of life and just because they are on a certain web sight doesn't mean they are high up in the food chain of men.

I'm just sayin.

I've talked to some really great guys on here. Everyone has been great with the advice and teh conversation and In general, the posts are amusing too. Glad I joined this site, it motivated me to lose 23 pounds from the Olympics till now.

Haven't met a RJer in my area yet, but as I just moved I can't really complain.

So far, I've only met one guy in person whom I first met on RealJock. I've met a LOT of people from other sites (e.g. MySpace, Connexion) that I met first online and then later in person.

And I can't really say that one site (this one, or any one) has "more quality people" than any other... I've generally met high quality people on all of the sites I frequent. But I think that's because I have a pretty high filter before I'll met someone, so only the quality people get through, regardless of the site.

I met my partner on this site! He moved down to Dallas from Omaha a few months ago.
