I've noticed certain regularity: whenever there are some bodybuilders or muscled guys, most of them are into the same guys. Is it always so and why is it so? Do you have to be a bodybuilder to attract them?

I dunno. I've always wondered about that myself. icon_confused.gif Everyone where I live wants the All-American boy with muscles and the body of Adonis or whatever. I'm nothing like that so I often get disregarded and overlooked by many of the people in my area. icon_neutral.gif

But on here, I've gotten my fair share of people who like what I look like and wouldn't want me to change and those who probably don't care for me because of what I look like and how thin I am.

People like what they like, are attracted to who they are attracted, and don't have to make apologies for it. If you see a pattern then you see a pattern and are likely to continue seeing an attraction pattern, but that doesn't determine any set laws for absolutes.

I agree BUT what if for example somebody is slim and likes his body and is into muscled guys...That's kind of sucks, isn't it? I think that some people simply would look silly if they turned into beefcakes...And preferences are not going to change... It's a dead-end situation. When I see a muscled couple which looks almost identical in shape I feel like something is not right there...Maybe because I think that one guy always have to be a 'weaker' one and smaller than another. then it's a perfect match I think....

You're new here but you're not re-inventing the wheel. This exact thread has been made 8 million times before. Skinny guys complain muscle guys aren't in to them. It's just how it is.

I'd tear up a bitch if they thought I had to be 'the weaker' one in the relationship. >:/ That's essentially like making me the subordinate submissive bottom in the relationship.

i think their into other bodybuilders. but with good reason, i mean theyve worked their asses off for those bodes so they want a partner that does the same.

Iv talked to at least two muscular guys who said very clearly that they were turned on by being topped by a guy with more a slim swimmers build. So it does vary.

The reason most guys in that kind of physical shape like other guys in the same shape is because A. They know that they find themselves hot and want the same. B. A guy in the same shape can keep up in the gym. C. They prefer guys who take care of their bodies.

Also, @ariodante, just because you think you've seen this 1,000 times doesn't mean there is nothing more to say on the matter. There are new members all the time who can give their own input.

    Nope.
I have been privileged to have dated 2 bodybuilders in my life! And I am hardly near to their level of perfection!

I can understand and I even admire that people because I wouldn't do that but don't you think it doesn't make sense a little bit - to change a body for somebody only to attract that person? It's like anything else doesn't matter but just a body. That's how I see it.

High maintenance guy + low maintenance guy rarely work; however you don't have to a big muscular guy to be a part of the lifestyle, find a color in the spectrum you can move around in.

I'll agree they work hard, but so do runners and swimmers and others. Not complaining, but the statement almost implies they don't.

I don't think it's sensible to expect much of anything for these types. Some people are more intrigued by the idea of what a muscular man represents (e.g. masculinity, control, strength, power). Others just like the appearance of them. I think, as Ario alluded to in some ways, it doesn't really matter what the other person likes. If they don't like you or appreciate you, why bother? Sure, there needs to be physical attraction between two individuals but some people are mostly interested in the idea of what that person holds for them rather than the person themselves.

A good movie to watch is the Adonis Factor on Netflix. It explains, pretty thoroughly, the complex of how men are increasingly objectifying their desires-- particularly in highly (gay) urbanized areas like L.A.

Personally, I like muscly guys but not to the point where I'm like half their weight or a third of their body mass. icon_confused.gif Everyone has different ideas of what it means to be attracted to a person. I guess if a person doesn't like "twinks" or "French toasts", that's their prerogative and loss. icon_smile.gif

Besides, I work my ass off and I have far more than most. I am a hard gainer like no body's business so it's not easy for me to put on weight. I'm genetically predisposed to be small, tiny, and petite. My metabolism wants to keep me paper thin.

These discussions always seem to be circular. So someone who is slim does not work hard at the gym. Well, that is a stupid assumption. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we all have different fitness goals, and body-building is not synonymous to in shape. Period.

I'm not sure if I got it right... So if somebody is slim you automatically assume that he doesn't feel attractive and doesn't feel confident in his body only because being well-build means to be attractive...?
[cite][/cite]They prefer guys who take care of their bodies.
Wait, wait, wait! Not only beefcakes take care of their bodies lol

Kind of how your attraction is based solely on them having a muscular body regardless of who they are as people.

I meant the people who change they bodies for being attractive because they think that's the only way to be attractive and find a partner. I'm not saying that every body-builder is stupid but I think that a lot of you admit that in very many cases there is no place for a brain in that efforts.
