Barack Obama has a 58-point lead over John McCain among LGBT voters, according to a recent public opinion poll.

Registered LGBT voters favor Senator Barack Obama over Senator John McCain 68% to 10%, with 3% of LGBT adults supporting Ralph Nader and 1% choosing Bob Barr.

Another 15% of LGBT voters said they were still undecided on a candidate.

I'm not sure what I'm more concerned about - 10% voting for John McCain or 15% being undecided.

Agreed, I think those figures represent a very high insanity rate among LGBT folks.

You know, folks, you'll never get over your problem until you can first admit that you have one.

I'm not too concerned about them, it's the 3% that were too drunk to answer that worries me. icon_smile.gif

I was just in Los Angeles last weekend and was shocked, though pleasantly, how many gay guys I ran into who were actually pro-McCain. More and more I am getting the feeling that there are a great many more McCain supporters out there than people think.

Not surprising that you would travel in the sort of circles where McCain supporters are to be found. These are the sort of men you're comfortable with.

The figures, however, seem accurate enough.

It's true - there are a whole lot of us gay guys who prefer McCain, and after watching the documentary the other night on television about Obama and his background - there are bound to be a whole lot more McCain supporters stepping up to the plate.

Nope! I'm almost willing to bet that Paris Hilton could run this country better than John McCain.

Well, I was in West Hollywood...wouldn't exactly call that a bastion of conservatism. I'm not saying there was an over abundance of McCain supporters, just way more than I expected among the small group I spoke with.

Well, I'm not sure that all gay people need to support a candidate based on his stance on gay rights. Ideally, people would chose a candidate based on more than a single issue. Especially now, that the country has so many other problems, I would say that gay issues are not the most important concern in terms of the wellfare of the country as a whole.

On the other hand, Republicans have been not too subtle about trying to distance themselves from the gay community. It's almost childish how quickly they are to throw us under the bus just to gain favor with the conservative base. They make looking past their anti same-sex marriage stance a lot harder.

... but anyway, my point is, there are plenty of reasons not to like McCain besides his stance on gay issues icon_biggrin.gif

Are you talking about the documentary on Faux News? Will you also watch the upcoming documentaries on CNN?
