    Mmmm...the blog had a typo:

"Romney should have seen this speech and immediately said "Libya's capital isn't Tripoli,..."

Didn't we just have CuriousJockAZ praising Romney the other day for his foreign business experience? (The thread response being, yeah, experience with off-shore tax dodges, Swiss bank accounts, and outsourcing US jobs overseas)

But now it appears Mr. Romney's massive foreign relations knowledge never included the fact that only a foreign nation's capitol city gets an embassy, all other cities getting consulates. Which is where our US ambassador was killed, in our consulate in the non-capitol city of Benghazi.

So that Romney either doesn't know that Tripoli is the capitol of Libya, or else that there is only 1 embassy in each foreign country. An international businessman might be expected to know that, and certainly one who's running for a position where he'll be appointing our ambassadors starting in 4 months. Romney's incompetence is putting him in a class with Sarah Palin. icon_rolleyes.gif

It ain't over until the fat man sings. Rush Limbaugh will come up with some incredible spin, that the Right will quickly latch onto, and Mitt will be given a pass by them.

metta8 saidThe Lost Soul Of Mitt Romney

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/09/12/the-lost-soul-of-mitt-romney/

"Indeed, as the communiqué noted, this religious tolerance is a cornerstone of American democracy.

At least it used to be.

Governor Romney should understand this better than most as the founder of Romney’s own LDS religion, Joseph Smith, was murdered  by a violent mob whose own religious beliefs had been offended by Smith. Ironically, that mob violently stormed the jail in which Smith was being detained and killed the man in cold blood.

I’m sure the irony of our Ambassador’s death at the hands of such a mob is completely lost on Governor Romney who has now cashed in the decency I have always ascribed to the man in exchange for his willingness to do anything—and say anything—if it helps him capture the prize he so intensely seeks. No doubt, the Romney campaign tells itself that trading their souls is the price they must pay for the greater good. No doubt, they convince themselves of some wisdom they find in speaking first and thinking later if that is what must be done to save the American people from themselves."

John Huntsman was the only one who was near presidential material among the lot of repub pres contenders.

Politicizing this tragic event will ultimately and inevitably prove to be one politician's self-evisceration.

One aspect of all this that I have not heard mentioned enough is that the ambassador went to the consulate to get the dipomatic personnel out. He didnt stay in Tripoli. He went personally and did what a boss should do. Be there.

The way things look to CJAZ is always distorted because he views the world through pro-Repub blinders.

That's what happens when you get your "facts" from the Fox pro-Repub propaganda channel.

Are you fucking kidding me??? I just watched his blunder and fumbled speech and thought to myself.. this Idiot Looks any BUT Presidential!
Those debates are going to eat his lunch,,,,, such an empty suit..icon_rolleyes.gif

CuriousJockAZ saidWow! STOP THE PRESSES!!! I am watching the press conference and Romney is doing an unbelievably solid job. This was the best press conference I have seen him do. He is showing real leadership here. I know that scares some of you who would rather have him shut up. Clearly, and thankfully, he is not going to do that.

He is using a tragedy and hostile hotbed situation to score a few political points. Wow... Romney will do and say anything to get elected. Fortunately, voters see thru this facade.

    CuriousJockAZ said:
I respectfully disagree. I saw a whole different Romney in this press conference than, frankly, I have ever seen before --- and I liked it! I only hope that more Americans saw it, or get a chance to see it replayed, during the day, because Romney looked extremely Presidential -- he was firm, focused, and showed real leadership. If he performs like this in the debates, he's going to look very good. The best part was when he was done with his statement taking the reporters questions. Reporter after reporter tried to get him to back down from his statement yesterday, or questioned him trying to politicize this, and Romney would not back down even a little. He made the point over and over that a candidate must show leadership in a prompt and focused fashion if he is going to prove to the American people that he has the ability to be Commander in Chief. Obviously, he will be criticized for this, and the Democrats will try to turn it into a "Romney is pouncing to score political points" type of argument.

Whaaaaat Da???? Are we watching the same speech here??? He stumbled and bumble and totally LOST focus in that speech. At the end when he felt it was getting too hot, he walked away from the reporters.. smirking the whole way,, as if he had delivered some great speech and make headway. It just made me loose even more respect for him as a human being!

I agree with you. Will just have to respectively disagree with CJAZ about this ticking time bomb called Romney
