I do feel bad for him. I've seen old vids of him on You Tube then and he obviously could sing. I wondered what happened during this audition but then he was not too bad.

I heard about this before the show aired. Apparently part of what he has struggled with is that he is gay. He came out to Britney during the audition and she was great about it. I'm not sure why they chose not to air that part though. He sounded awful but he had a good voice on the track with Britney! Not sure what happened.

What no one has mentioned is that he looks coked out in this audition. The constant fidgety attitude, I know people who do coke and they tend to get like this right after. It's sad, he just needs to deal with some stuff

That was so uncomfortable to watch...after all of the build-up of his story and how obsessed with Britney he was, I was like "please be good, please be good" and then...yeah, not so great.

You could tell Britney's heart broke during that audition. Her eye's tell stories and it was obvious the audition upset her. I think because she genuinely wanted him to do well.

That was hard to watch... Poor Britney. That has to be a terrible position to be in.

I thought Simon was going to make it REALLY uncomfortable for everybody by asking Britney what she thought before anyone else gave their opinion. I'm glad he didn't put her on the spot like that.

I've never seen this show, but I have one question: Isn't there some other group of people who screen the contestants beforehand - - - - so to prevent cases like this, where a non-singer has to crash and burn so publicly? I mean - - - If I myself couldn't sing........I'd have wanted somebody or some group backstage to give me the hook before I made such a mess of myself out there on that stage.

What? No no no, the production assistants will tell you that you are amazing so your heartbreak looks that much more convincing.
Read Ben Elton's Chart Throb for a hilarious fictionalized story about these kinds of shows.

yup, there is for american idol so I would assume there is for this show... I mean I don't think britney spears wants to spend all day listening to thousands of wannabes.

it was a dramatic tv moment...we're all talking about it... I think that was the idea. I don't really get why the guy thought he had "let britney down" but it was definitely not a good performance. probably very nervous :/

I'm disappointed in the guy not because of his singing(the guy was still crying while singing for crying out loud), but for the fact that he feels "sorry" for Britney and not the fact that she betrayed him instead

He is beautiful but he cant sing or at least not then. I dont know if there is coaching or a type of song that would be suitable. He prolly should go for some other role in show biz.

Maybe he sucked because he smoked too many cigs and lost his voice... geez... the way he talks makes him sound like a chain smoker

He chose a difficult song to sing in a key that's obviously too high for him. I wonder if he would have done better with a different song...

This was him 10 years ago and he was a recording artist. It was certainly 'boy-bandish' and he conformed to the standards. He obviously had the ability to sing.

But what surprised me is why he chose to be on X factor since he had already made it, in my opinion.

He's trying to do that whiney shit that Britany does when she sings and it just doesn't work. At all.

Did anyone else think he was jonesing throughout the segment? He was sort of all over the place, talking kind of weird, a bit sweaty...
And you don't just lose your voice after 10 years. I don't even think you can do that with just cigarettes -- I think it's gotta be something more than that.

There was no betrayal there. What he produced was not good quality. Britney was right to say no regardless of relationship.

That was painful to watch. I can't imagine how horrible that must've been for Britney, he was absolutely terrible.

Plus, his mind is definitely GONE. Either he's on something or he lost his mind somewhere along the way because he definitely wasn't all there.
