Incredible... is it now policy of the Obama Administration that they would rather cave to demands of extremists than stand up for freedom of speech? How do supporters of this administration reconcile this?

The White House asked YouTube on Tuesday to review an anti-Muslim film posted to the site that has been blamed for igniting the violent protests this week in the Middle East.

Tommy Vietor, spokesman for the National Security Council, said the White House has “reached out to YouTube to call the video to their attention and ask them to review whether it violates their terms of use.”

However, the video remained on the site as of Friday afternoon, and it is posted many other places on the Internet.

Messages to YouTube, and Google, which owns the site, were not immediately returned Friday. On Wednesday, a YouTube spokesperson said the video “is clearly within our guidelines and so will stay on YouTube.”

The spokesperson added, however, that the site restricted access in Libya and Egypt because of the unrest. “We work hard to create a community everyone can enjoy and which also enables people to express different opinions. This can be a challenge because what’s OK in one country can be offensive elsewhere,” the spokesperson said.

I need to watch this video and see what all the fuss is about. How can one video cause such a ruckus?

The short answer is that it didn't -

It was a pretext. The attack in Benghazi was not a random group of protesters but gunmen and planned.

YouTube tells White House it will not remove video blamed for sparking riots

As anti-American rioting continues tonight in as many as 20 countries around the world, the White House has finally decided to make a definitive display of power — against YouTube. And YouTube isn’t backing down.

As Twitchy reported earlier, the White House contacted YouTube and requested they review the video which the Obama administration insists is responsible for sparking the attacks against several American diplomatic outposts. Press secretary Jay Carney told reporters today that the riots were “in response not to United States policy, and not to, obviously, the administration,” even as mobs in Gaza burned the American flag and an effigy of President Obama.
