"Babe"

I'm all for people eventually resorting to "babe" instead of their names (although I can never see myself doing it). Whenever I talk to guys, no matter how hot they are, if they start calling me "babe" or "baby" after a few weeks its a real turn off. I wouldn't stop talking to someone because of it, but it really gets on my tits, and I have no idea why haha.
    Is anyone else like this?

My kryptonite is when the guy I'm interested in says my name over and over again in a playful, teasing way.

"Jonathan...Jonathan, Jonathan, Jonathan...sweet, sweet Jonathan....oh glorious Jonathan...." haha you get the point.

I don't mind pet names as long as it's in moderation. I can see how it can be annoying if the person you're into almost never says your name and resorts to "babe" "bro" "dude", as if he can't remember or doesn't want to mix it up with someone else's. I think there's much more serious things to worry about then pet names though. icon_smile.gif

You have tits? :0 May I play with these said tits? ;o

I think it's when it's excessive that it chides my hide. I don't mind of girls call me those pet names though, oddly enough. icon_neutral.gif

Weirdly enough this one lady came into my work and I had to do something for her.
I was so surprised because just out of politeness I asked her how she was going and she from the beginning of her story right til the end kept calling me babe.
Super weird for me because my friends don't even call me babe.

The only weirder thing I have ever been called (that wasn't derogatory) was this one american woman who kept calling me honey child lol, only worked with her for one day.

Pet names are just a sign that the guy really likes you. I wouldn't take it as anything other than that. You do have the ability to negotiate pet names as well.

It's a complete turn ON when a guy calls me babe. It has such a personal connotation that it makes me feel like the only one... if that makes sense.

As for "babe", because it's used so frequent and generically in everyday conversation (usually by women to their friends) I'd probably find it quite devaluing coming from my significant other.

I call my bf "baby" and "babe" all the time. In my mind, there's no hotter and more affectionate name for someone you truly love.

Depends on the tone. If it's meant as a term of endearment, I'm all for it. If it's condescension, then of course not.

Or it could be that he simply doesn't remember your name at that particular moment. I do that all the time when I can't remember a kid's name...the boys are Chief or Mister, the girls Sweetheart or Missy.

An affectionate pet name is adorable.
Ok, maybe not Honey Boo Boo.
