Loren Cameron's photos were part of a GLBT art show I exhibited in over
15 years ago at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. I don't understand why all the controversy.

If 4k coming from an institution which I pay for was being used to fund an "art" exibition showing photos of dick-chopping surgery I'd be pretty pissed too.
How about using all that money to buy books for students, they are quite expensive at university level.

I don't know why some gays (and artists in general) seem to think their activities are supposed to be imune to scrutiny and good use of other people's money.
If the trangender's exibition is so great, why doesn't she get money from a sponsor or an art gallery? As far as I know, universities aren't free in the USA and students borrow huge amounts of money to pay for higher education. They have all the right to be angry if that money is being used to propel an artist's career.

    1. $4k is not very much money to spend on an exhibit. Just because you do not personally see value in it does not mean there is no value in it.

    2. if they did not spend the $4k on the exhibit, it would not have been given to students to pay for books.

    3. I'm sure there are plenty of things your university spends money on that are not for you.
