I think this statue represents the era we are in. It represents how society is so full of themselves and that everyone has a nude online. Instead of the camera facing others, it faces youself in a lewd manner (the artist should have used a smartphone instead, though). How sinful!

When will the debauchery end! Predict! We're all going to hell (or living in it now...)!!!!

Definitely living it now, I'd say. icon_sad.gif

Mind you, the art critics would have a field day with this one...!

Uh-huh. How is this ANY different than the self-portraits of any merchant-class or noble family from the last 10,000 years or so?

    This.

The only difference now is how widespread and easy this is. The internet has facilitated a spreading of culture/habits/trends/behavior in ways few anticipated. Everyone is Cindy Sherman these days.

When will people stop taking nude pictures of themselves you ask?
When the porn market crashes, maybe. But no, they've been a very VERY successful business for decades. Also, people are obsessed with showcasing themselves on instagram.... I still don't have one.

It makes people feel good about themselves?

Who cares. It's an interesting statue.
