Do you guys wear headphones while lifting free weights? I've never wanted to try in case a cord gets caught up and something stupid happens, but I was just wondering if you guys do it and nothing bad happens.

I drop the cord down inside my shirt and my phone is in my shorts pocket.

The gym would not be as much fun without my headphones.

If you're worried, slip the headphone cord under your shirt or use an armband.

I always do when I'm doing cardio, but lately I've been going headphones-free when lifting. I seem to spend less time skipping songs and it's nice to be away from the phone and be entirely focused on my workout.

I use Sennheiser CX 680s. They're a bit pricey, but they sound really good and are the only ones that will stay in my ears.

I always have my music when I'm working out. I wear an armband and wrap the extra cord around my iPhone so that it's less likely to get caught on anything. You can also put the cord through your shirt.

This is what I wear to go anywhere. No hassle with cords anymore.

I can't imagine working out without the sound of music to drown out all the conversation. I have a ipod so I can leave my phone in the car too. Run the headphone cord under your shirt and you Will be good to go!

Same. Without my iPod, I'd have to listen to moronic conversations by the high school kids pretending to work out.

And to drown out the horrible music they have blaring through the speakers. I have noise isolating earphones for that purpose.

I wear headphones because I need the motivation of music to get me through my workout... but also because I need a good excuse to not have to talk to people. icon_razz.gif I'm non-social at the gym: I'm just there to get my workout done.

I use my iPhone and some wraparound headphones, but the cord almost never gets caught on anything. I use my iPhone because I like to use the stopwatch app on it to make sure my rests between sets are correct.

Yes music motivates me during my workouts and it helps me stay focus and from being distracted.

My best friend/ workout partner skipped the gym yesterday because he left his headphones/ ipod at work. All I could do was laugh at him. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

There is nothing like having a personal sound track to your workout.

There was a time when i didn't wear headphones to the gym..
..Now that i do.. i could never go back.

..As far as "something bad" happening..
I had a really hot guy come up from behind to try to talk to me..
poor guy was talking for a minute before i realized he was there..
    Awkward
