Did anyone else see The Artist? I just saw it last weekend, and it really was such a good movie; I almost cried at some parts! If you saw it, what did you think of it? Did you like it as much as I did?

    Who here likes movies?

I, too, saw it last year (or 10 years ago) and loved it. But, I'm a fan of silent film and silent film history, as is my husband; so we spent hours afterwards discussing the various influences (the lead character is a cross between Doug Fairbanks and John Gilbert, etc.).

I thought it was pretty good. I liked the silent conceit, and I loved the cinematography, the design, the authenticity of the whole thing. But thought the plot line was a bit trite and that it was too long. A Star Is Born, much?
