Seriously, what have you done today to make you feel proud? Do you need a change too?

I had sex with a hamster.
    It was existential.

After being stood up by a guy and having friends renege on pre-arranged plans, I went out on the town by myself (during tropical storm Fay no-less). I ended up running into several people I knew, had drinks, laughs. Then I went to a swanky new lounge and met some new people. Yay me!

Me? I had a heart to heart w/ a friend about what to do w/ my life. I am SO miserable w/ work(s). So, he asked me what makes me happy and I said athletics and being healthy. He said to start applying for careers in that field.

My degree IS marketing, so I can't see why not? So, I'm applying w/ companies in the fitness field. I want to go to work to a job where I'm happy to be there. You know?

After being out of my depression for awhile now and looking back and seeing that I wasted about six or seven years depressed, I don't want to do that again. It's not worth it. And honestly? I really don't remember much about my life during my depression.

This is what is making me proud right now.

    I forgot to add ...

I will be heading to a new gym for my boxing training. I'll be sparring against other guys and I know I'll have my ass handed to me a few times and vice versa. I'm very nervous, but I'm really excited.

Met my boyfriends kids for the first time (18, 20, 25 y/o). They are great! They are open minded, kind hearted, giggly girls. Plus, they are happy that their dad is happy. I am honored and relieved.

wow, i think they used the soundtrack from "top gun" for that... and i just about choked when she said, "don't you mess up my hair, or you'll pay for this!"

    child!!!! hallelujah! (stomps feet)

    she better get a witness...

something that made me feel proud: i have been the switzerland in the household as my two straight female roommates launched wwIII around me. i reorganized the house in such a way that it finally, after a year, feels like a home.

it made me feel good (maybe even proud) to laugh my ass off at that fight video... i've been a bit in the dumps because of a job loss about a month ago and then my cat died a week ago (miss my kitty more than the job)... maybe i'm coming out of the dumps.

I saved a life today. That's what makes me proud, but I 'pose that's my job. I got called out in the ambulance for a roll-over out in the country. It was bad and I felt deformation on her back and she was in severe pain when I touched her pelvis, so she had a broken back and pelvis. I managed to get her secured and immobilized and get her to the hospital with no further injuries, and she doesn't have any sign of spinal cord injuries. She should be just fine. I take pride in what I do, I get to help people when they need it most. That's what made me feel proud today.

I kind of saved two lives today....

I was driving home to Reno from Lake Tahoe on a 2 lane highway that goes over the mountain pass. There were a bunch of cars in both directions moving slow/stopped as two dogs were running loose on the highway. I pulled over and after about 5 minutes of chasing my roommate and I grabbed both the dogs. We called the tags but no one answered, but the address was close.

We threw the dogs in my car, which was a sight to have my lab/pit, a fat Australian Shepard and a white, fluffy Samoyed all in the back seat with my roommate. We took them home and a really hot dad was there without his shirt on working in the yard. His toddlers, running around in superhero costumes, had let the dogs out.

So not only did I save a couple lives, but I got great eye candy.

Funny that people were driving by yelling at me to put my dogs on a leash.

Yeah good job! Having independence teaches you a lot. And I hope no one feels bad for putting off moving out of the parents house. I once read that the average age of moving out was something like 31 years old!icon_eek.gif
