To start a thread on an old topic and risk having the "here let me show you how to search" people berate you?

Or search for an old topic and revive it and have the "OMG who revived this zombie thread!" people berate you?

If you can't handle being berated, then die.

Eulogies are always full of warm and fuzzy stuff about you.

    Life isn't.

Posting in general response threads makes a good 3rd option.

Don't think too much about it.

I wish I knew why too. icon_neutral.gif Oh well. I guess my best stab would be that new comers apparently piss off the oldbies by raising points that have already been recirculating for a while. I don't care personally. +D

I'm a party kinda guy so I usually just post in threads that are more entertaining. :3 taichi-crazy-rabbit-emoticon.gif?1292793

Just because some people are dicks is no reason to not revive an old thread. I think they forget, there are new people coming to the sue all the time. Honestly, if they are that bored seeing the same old topic, go to another website.

    The rules are simple:

    RJ FORUM RULES
    Topic: Creating New Threads

    1) Do not reply to old threads. Otherwise you'll be stabbed in the face.
    2) Do not create a new thread when another similar thread already exists, no matter how old it may be. Break this rule and you could be stabbed in the face.

I hear medium roast contains more caffeine than dark roast, but doesn't it seem like it should be the other way around? icon_confused.gif

Did you check to make sure this thread wasn't already created? icon_razz.gif

Define "old!" If it's within a few weeks, it shouldn't take more than a few seconds to find what you were interested in discussing. The responses you seek may be in there already, saving you a few keystrokes.

Nothing wrong with a thread revival if it's to add an interesting new wrinkle or update to the original story, or so long as it's not the kind where we're issuing our appalled, pearl-clutching, opinionated screeds at hidden/deleted/banned/deceased OPs. Even if it's a current member, perhaps the OP already addressed that (boil on their toe/lousy boyfriend/racial confusion/coming out) issue to his own satisfaction back in 2008... e-mail him and find out first.

    Start a new thread....

people join and leave, it wont be old to everyone and if ppl are all "omg, this was already discussed before"...... fuck 'em. They'll get over it.

Start a new thread AFTER searching to see if it wasn't done within the past week or two.

Technology is a wonderful thing and everyone here appreciates tangential thinking. With the advent of threadjacking, and the popularity of unconnected thoughts, it's neither necessary to dig up an old nor even start a new thread just to have say. Instead, learn the ancient art of segue.

If you require further assistance, never hesitate to cop a feel, I mean, ask a cop.

I am constantly looking for the "like" button and am disappointed when I remember there isn't one icon_sad.gif

But yeah in response to the OP, I've only been back on here for a few days but I imagine things haven't changed too much. You're going to deal with a lot of people on here who have that "I don't like myself so I'm going to treat you like garbage and pretend I'm king diva." shit going on. Post whatever you want and if people respond by being jerks, ignore the hell out of them. They're negative people who aren't going to contribute anything to the conversation anyways
