Many called Eastwood crazy after his odd rambling appearance at the RNC.
But perhaps Mr. Eastwood is crazy like a fox.

From the moment I saw Clint's chair act, I thought it was complete MOCKERY OF MITT.....AND HIS HOSTS.

I loved when The Chair asked him to tell Romney to 'GO FUCK HIMSELF'.

Clint says "I can't tell Romney to do that to himself".

AND THEN THIS LINE---referring pretty clearly to ROMNEY:

"FOLKS, WE DON'T HAVE TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE ....WE DON'T REALLY LIKE."

If he'd been talking about President Obama, he would have said
    1. someone we HATE
    2. someone who doesn't share our values
    3. someone who's a socialist
    4 yada, yada, yada

But someone "WE DON'T REALLY LIKE"

    That would be ROMNEY !

    Yup.
I was iffy on the idea that Clint deliberately sabotaged the RNC convention - but these comments he's made make me believe that he did

Plus - Clint has a lot of liberal Hollywood friends who he's worked with who are strong fans of his.
If Clint was really the crazy right-wing coot we saw on the stage at the RNC - it's hard to believe that he'd have so many liberal friends in Hollywood.

Clint considers himself a Libertarian. He is absolutely for Mitt Romney, but also for Gay Marriage. He was a guest on ELLEN yesterday and reiterated this...

Ellen - another one of Clint's liberal friends who are in on the joke Clint pulled on Romney and the GOP.

It was kind of a cruel joke - but as Clint said - if the Romney campaign was "dumb enough" to ask Clint to speak at the RNC convention "they're going to have to take what they get".

    I say they got punked.

Are you ever naive about how Hollywood works. Clint Eastwood is an American icon who is also one of the most respected directors and producers of Academy Award winning films alive. Those "liberal" friends all clamor at the chance to work on anything Clint touches, regardless of his politics. Clint doesn't have to pull trickery. He is what he is. The "if they were dumb enough" comment was an example of Clint's well-known self-deprecating sense of humor which he also displayed in the Ellen ("The Republicans already know I'm Senile") interview. He's not pro-Obama, and I have seen this expressed by him in countless interviews he has done promoting the new movie, because of course every reporter has asked him about the RNC. I find it hilarious that you think that if someone of Clint's stature is supporting the other guy, he must have been punking them. He couldn't possibly REALLY be supporting Romney icon_rolleyes.gif

" He couldn't possibly REALLY be supporting Romney "

    THAT'S WHAT I'M THINKING TOO.

After all, as CJAZ points out, Clint is a PROFESSIONAL.

What he did at the Repub convention was very, very SLY.

Clint has a lifetime of practice in delivering just the performance he wants......

....so his meandering dialogue with the chair was NOT the presentation

    of an aged mind.

His well placed barbs were at the expense of his Repub hosts...

....and TO FOLLOW THIS SO CLOSELY WITH AN ENDORSEMENT OF

    GAY MARRIAGE.

AHHHH, Clint is having his way with those "DUMB ENOUGH" to have invited him.

It's quite illuminating how you have the "Present Mind" to be so "Balancing" in your responses. What's that saying... "You can fool some of the people, some of the time...."? icon_wink.gif

Did he tell that to a person or a chair?
