I had braces in high school and it can't be anyworse than that.

When they tightened then every couple months, the pain for abour two days was horrible! And the wire at the back would always cut my gums. It will be over soon enough. icon_biggrin.gif

everybody obsesses over the "perfect smile" due to pressure from advertising etc. but I"m pretty sure i would love your "small space".

I luv guys with quirky, slightly imperfect, idiosyncratic teeth.

a little gap, slight chip (with a great story about how it happened) one tooth not quite marching in line, all things i find very endearing and special to that person.

now if your bite is messed up, or you have teeth growing in the roof of your mouth, by all means get that taken care of, but the little anomalies that make you, you, keep those.

PS: also, for people who are having their teeth whitened every 2 mos, stop it, they're so white they're blue now and u look ridiculous

I used to have braces many many moons ago... They hurt like a mug for the first week, but in time I got used to it, and the shitty diet. You will be fine with the pain... at least you can still chow on a green apple whenever you choose. icon_razz.gif

    I'm on my second course.

Initially they may hurt and feel weird; but eventually you'll get use to them.

I am horrible about wearing them 22 hours a day though (might be the reason I'm having this do-over). But I also suffer from bruxism, so wearing them is like having mouth guards so my tongue and the inside of my cheeks don't turn into hamburgers. Even when I am done with this round I think I will invest in the maintenance program.

i had braces for a few years back in grade school. I never could remember to put in the orthadonture bands at night though so I asked my orthodontist if there was an easy solution. He said there was.

I walked out of that office with fucking stainless steel springs strung between my upper and lower jaw icon_biggrin.gif

    no pain, no gain baby.
If it's not painful, it's not working. They're slowly shifting ur teeth. Keep at it. Werq

I learned to embrace my snaggletooth incisor, it's kind of my trademark. But to me Invisaligns make sense for practical, not cosmetic purposes - you can take them out twice a day to brush and floss. Also practically and not cosmetically speaking it'd make it easier for me to floss - I've got tight teeth, the teeth and gums of a 20 year old my dentist tells me, if anyone's into that. ;)

I'm almost done with mine. I'm on set 19/21.

The first couple of sets can be uncomfortable, but you'll be fine.

I want to get them too to close my spaces. I never, ever show my teeth when I smile in pictures lol. I probably still won't after I'm done with Invisalign but it will make me feel better and a little bit sexier.
