Abuse

Now its not like me to be all whiny but someone ransacked my car tonight so i'm feeling a little emotional (idiots didn't take anything)

On the subject of abuse and types of abuse: I was never physically abused or beat up at school (at home, that's another story) but I went through probably twelve years of psychological abuse and bullying at school from being called names to having my clothes stolen in gym class and my glasses broken.
I still have issues to this day but I've stopped seeking comfort from my mother since all I ever get back from her is "what did you do to provoke it?" Basically, and i'm not even sure she realizes it, she's telling me that everything that people do to me is my own damn fault.

So sometimes when i'm a little sauced up (like tonight) i wonder...would it have been easier if it had been physical? Would the schools have actually done something about the bullying if I'd come home with black eyes or bruised ribs? Would people have cared more if they could actually "see" what had been done to me instead of just listening to me try and remember what they said? I can remember quite clearly the faces of the school administrators, their eyes glazing over with disinterest as i tried to recount the various things that were done to me. Even the one time someone DID attack me, nothing ever got done. And everyone knew who it was, but nobody would tell me or the teachers so nothing got done.

Sorry for the emo rant, just needed to vent i guess. Feeling lonely, etc, waaaahh icon_rolleyes.gif

    Well what's shitty for sure.

I can understand the anxiety and paranoia you feel carrying that baggage. However, at some point you have to let go of the past. No sense in dwelling on things you can't change though certainly it's worth remembering any lessons from those experiences. You're an adult who's now the captain of his own ship. You don't have to take in adulthood what you took during your childhood.

I know you're serious about what you said, but I can't help but giggle at "not taking it." Forgive me.
